The Beretta M12 is an Italian sub-machine gun developed by Beretta mostly to be issued to Carabinieri (Italian Gendarmerie equivalent), but later in the 1970s replaced the MAB submachine gun. It has some variants such as the M12S (foldable stock), PM12S (modernized) and PM-12S2 (additional safety features). It was widely exported and even made under licence by PT Pindad,FN Herstal and Taurus. Is supposed to be replaced by the Beretta PMX in Italian service and police.

Latest revision as of 12:23, 26 January 2024

The Beretta M12 is an Italian sub-machine gun developed by Beretta mostly to be issued to Carabinieri (Italian Gendarmerie equivalent), but later in the 1970s replaced the MAB submachine gun. It has some variants such as the M12S (foldable stock), PM12S (modernized) and PM-12S2 (additional safety features). It was widely exported and even made under licence by PT Pindad,FN Herstal and Taurus. Is supposed to be replaced by the Beretta PMX in Italian service and police.
