Some advice to file name

Hello, FriendlyHornet! Excuse me, I have some advise to the file name choice. Although it not necessary, it's better to avoid using diacritical mark, like ç, é, ã š, ž etc. and non-standard symbols ’ (than standard apostrophe '), «» (than standard breckets "), – (than standard dash -) etc. Year ago, a major failure happened with this site. It resulted to annihilation all files, which contain such symbols in those names. No one of this files still couldn't be restored. As result, a countless Pages with broken file links are at this site (You may check this category, to realize those numbers). At least one of this page even had to be removed. If the similar failure will be happened again, all new-uploaded files with such symbols will be risked to missed as well. So, despite it not necessary, but, it's mucj better to avoid using special symbols at the file name, using more simply variants, like "Seguranca NacionalParaFAL.jpg" rather than "Segurança NacionalParaFAL.jpg" etc. Thanks! If you're wondering why your image isn't updating, it's because it takes a few hours before it appears to change. You can force it to appear on a page by changing the embed size by one pixel. TheExplodingBarrel (talk) 04:21, 16 January 2024 (UTC)

I tried updating with a higher quality picture but for some reason the picture would be stretched out (It looked normal before uploading it); so for now i am reverting to the original version.FriendlyHornet 01:37, 16 january 2024 (BRT)

That's what I'm talking about. It appears like that for a while until it actually updates to the proper version. Changing the size of the embed for the image on a page will make the new version appear on it. TheExplodingBarrel (talk) 04:40, 16 January 2024 (UTC)
