Call of Duty: Vanguard is a first person shooter developed by Sledgehammer Games and published by Activision on Xbox One and Series S/X, PlayStation 4 and 5 and Microsoft Windows on November 5th, 2021. It is the eighteenth game in the Call of Duty franchise and the sixth main WWII title in the series, following Sledgehammer's previous game, Call of Duty: WWII. It features a campaign mode with characters from multiple Allied countries fighting on the Western, Eastern, African and Pacific fronts. It also has a Zombies mode, which is developed by Treyarch instead of Sledgehammer.
The following weapons appear in the video game Call of Duty: Vanguard:
Overview
Like Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War before it, Vanguard uses the Gunsmith system for its weapon attachments and customisation, which includes new upgrades such as incendiary ammo, seen on some weapons in Alpha gameplay.
Multiplayer features a new mode called Champion Hill, where small teams of two or three players battle in small arenas to be the only survivor. In between rounds, they can use the cash they've earned to purchase upgrades and better weapons.
Pistols
Colt M1911A1
A Colt M1911A1 appears in the trailer, used by an American pilot. It is known under the "1911" name.
Luger P08
A Luger P08 is seen in the reveal trailer.
Submachine Guns
MP40
German soldiers in the reveal trailer wield MP40s. During Alpha gameplay the weapon was stated to use "9mm Makarov" ammunition, which is incorrect and anachronistic, as 9x18mm Makarov ammo was made after the war in 1946. Empty reloads are incorrectly depicted with the character pulling the bolt back, then forward, swapping magazines and chambering a new round. The first two steps are unnecessary. It is also known as the "MP-40".
MP41
The "Shredder" submachine gun in the Frontline weapons pack is a heavily customized MP41. It also briefly appears in the Alpha trailer, kitted out with a skeleton Thompson grip, an MP18 barrel and a magazine similar in design to the Trommelmagazin 08.
Owen
The Owen Gun is carried by second lieutenant Riggs at the beginning of the trailer.
PPSh-41
Soviet Soldiers are seen carrying PPSh-41s at the beginning of the trailer.
Sten Mk II
In the teaser, a Sten Mk II can be seen lying on the ground. It is also featured in the reveal trailer, appearing multiple times.
Sten Mk I/Sten Mk VI Hybrid
The "Wildwood" submachine gun in the Frontline weapons pack is a hybrid combining original Sten Mk I with the pistol grip, fixed stock and suppressor from the Sten Mk VI.
Thompson Submachine Gun
What looks like an M1 Thompson is held by a US marine in the reveal trailer.
Type 100
A Type 100 submachine gun is used by an Allied soldier.
Shotguns
Becker revolving shotgun
The Becker revolving shotgun is seen in the PlayStation Alpha trailer and in Alpha gameplay as the "Revolving Shotgun". Its usage by anyone during WWII is highly improbable due to only about 100 examples being ever produced. In the Stalingrad Demo it is depicted with the correct 5 round cylinder and is used by German soldiers, as it is a German weapon. The lever used to pull the barrel out is incorrectly depicted as a regular charging handle.
Rifles
Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk. I
The Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk.I is seen in promotional media. It is also seen in the hands of British paratroopers as well.
Karabiner 98k
Karabiner 98k rifles are used by German soldiers in the reveal trailer. It is also used by the player character in the Stalingrad Demo. Unlike in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019), the rounds left on the stripper clip when reloading are tracked properly. Alpha versions of the game call the weapon "KAR98K".
M1 Garand
M1 Garand rifles are used by US marines in the reveal trailer.
Mosin Nagant M1891/30
A Mosin Nagant M1891/30 can be seen equipped with ghillie netting and a PU scope in the teaser. It is also used by Lieutenant Petrova in the reveal trailer to shoot a German soldier. The same scene is seen again in the Stalingrad demo, where the weapon is seen properly for the first time.
Sturmgewehr 44
The Sturmgewehr 44 is wielded by German soldiers in the reveal trailer. It is also used anachronistically in Stalingrad in August 1942 when in reality it was first issued in late 1943. Alpha gameplay calls the weapon the "STG44" and states the ammunition as "7.92 Mauser", similarly to the AK-47 in Modern Warfare firing "7.62 Soviet". An extended drum magazine appears to be a heavily modified MG42 drum seemingly rechambered for the 7.92x33mm Kurz.
Machine Guns
Bren Gun
A British soldier is seen holding a Bren gun in the trailer of the Stalingrad Demo Play-through.
Charlton Automatic Rifle
A Charlton Automatic Rifle is fired by second lieutenant Riggs in the reveal trailer.
Degtyaryov DP
A Degtyaryov DP is briefly seen in the Stalingrad demo.
M1918A2 Browning Automatic Rifle
The M1918A2 Browning Automatic Rifle appears is seen in the PlayStation Alpha trailer with a longer handguard, presumably an attachment of some sort. In the Alpha it is called the "BAR" and has the correct handguard by default. It is also depicted with a lethargic rate of fire around 300 RPM, indicating it is set to the slow ROF mode by default.
MG42
The MG42, fitted with a drum, is seen in the reveal trailer.
Type 96
The Type 96 LMG is briefly seen in the trailer.
Vickers Mk. I
A man-portable depiction of the Vickers Mk. I is seen in the PlayStation Alpha trailer.
Grenades & Explosives
Mk 2 Grenade
American Mk 2 hand grenades can be seen in the African section of the trailer.
Model 24 Stielhandgranate
Model 24 Stielhandgranates can be seen lying on the ground next to a German helmet in the teaser trailer.
Mills Bomb
Mills Bomb are carried by British paratroopers in the reveal trailer.
Unidentified smoke grenade
Unidentified stun/smoke grenade is used by a British paratrooper in the reveal trailer.
Mounted Weapons
3.7 cm Bordkanone
A German Stuka dive bomber in the trailer can be seen with two 3.7 cm Bordkanonen.
What appears to be a German 15 cm TbtsK C/36 naval gun is seen during the trailer.
Besa
The Besa machine gun is seen mounted in British Crusader Tanks.
Browning M2
Browning M2 machine guns appear multiple times throughout the trailer, on Douglas SBD Dauntless dive bombers and a Sherman tank in the Pacific.
Degtyaryov DT
A Soviet T-34/85 with a hull-mounted Degtyaryov DT is seen during the Stalingrad Demo Play-through. It is worth mentioning that this model is anachronistic for the Stalingrad scenario; the earlier T-34/76 would be more correct.
MG 13
An MG13 machine gun is mounted on an Sd.Kfz. 231 armored car in the reveal trailer.
MG34
The MG34 is mounted on German tanks in the reveal trailer.
MG81
The MG81 is mounted in the nose of Heinkel He 177 Greif bombers seen in the reveal trailer and the Warzone event.
MG151
The MG151 is mounted in the Heinkel He 177 Greif bombers seen in the reveal trailer and the Warzone event.
MG131
The MG131 is mounted in the Heinkel He 177 Greif bombers seen in the reveal trailer and the Warzone event.
Type 96 25 mm AT/AA Gun

Type 97 Aircraft Machine Gun
The Type 97 Aircraft Machine Gun is the nose-mounted MG of Japanese Mitsubishi A6M "Zero" fighters.
Type 99 Cannon
The "Zeros" are also armed with two wing-mounted Type 99 cannons.
