Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is the latest installment in the Call of Duty franchise that is currently in development by Treyarch and set for release on November 13, 2012. Despite what the name suggest this new title appears to not be a direct sequel to the first Black Ops as it takes place in the future in the year 2025, although some parts will take place in the Proxy Wars of the 1980s.
The game was officially revealed through a reveal trailer that debuted on May 1, 2012.
The following guns and pictures are taken from the official reveal trailer.
The following weapons are seen in the video game Call of Duty: Black Ops 2:
Pistols
Callsign Handguns
Two handguns were seen on a callsign in the Cargo map preview.
Taurus Raging Judge
A Taurus Raging Judge, is seen in the Multiplayer Trailer. It uses the Colt Python's sounds from Black Ops, but this might be a placeholder. Judging by the limited view of the cylinder it appears to be the cancelled 28 gauge version.
TDI Kard
David Mason is seen loading a handgun that appears to be based off the TDI Kard pistol while inside a vehicle. Another soldier is seen firing a similar pistol. It is called the KAP-40 in the E3 demo.
U23-R
A fictional handgun that has two ejection ports for some reason.
Unknown M1911 Variant
A nickel plated M1911 is briefly seen in the holster of a solider in the reveal trailer.
Unknown Pistol
An unknown pistol was seen in the reveal trailer that is said to be a FN Five-seveN.
Submachine guns
CZ SCORPION EVO 3
The CZ SCORPION EVO 3 appeared in the "Aftermath" multiplayer map preview.
Heckler & Koch MP7
The Heckler & Koch MP7 was used in the "Cargo" multiplayer map preview.
MSMC
The Modern Sub Machine Carbine was seen in the Gamescom demo for the map "Turbine".
"PDW-57"
This fictional submachine gun bears a strong resemblance to the P90, and is probably intended to represent a "futurised" version of it. It uses a very similar polycarbonate box magazine, but rather than being inserted from the top of the weapon it pivots at the front and swings out the the left-hand side.
QCW-05
The QCW-05 appearing as the Chicom QCB was first seen in the Los Angeles Gameplay Trailer.
TDI Vector
The TDI Vector is expected to return from Modern Warfare 2, now called the Vector K10. It also has a black finish as opposed to the tan finish from MW2.
Uzi
The Uzi can be seen during the Behind the Scenes video.
Assault Rifles
AK Variant
During the horse riding (Yes, horse riding) sequence of the first trailer, a rider can be seen gripping an unknown AK variant. On a closer examination of the screenshot, the proportions of the AK's magazine and lack of flash hider seem to imply it's a same WASR-2 inspired conglomerate as is the one in the first game
AN-94
Two generic Middle Eastern terrorists are seen being blown away by an explosion while still holding on to their AN-94 assault rifles in the premiere trailer. Seems that in Black Ops universe Russia has decided to start exporting the assault rifle by 2025.
Heckler & Koch XM8
Multiple soldiers in the reveal are seen wielding weapons which appear to be Heckler & Koch XM8s with short handguards and thick carrying handles seemingly based on one used by the M41A Pulse Rifle in Aliens. They use a railed carrying handle and have a railed handguard with rail covers rather than the PCAP accessory system used by the US version. In real life this configuration is used on Malaysian XM8s, though given the series' common use of Airsoft weapons as references it is far more likely this was based on a rail-equipped Airsoft gun. It is said to have an incorrect 32 round capacity, it has been confirmed that this is the M8A1 Assault rifle.
IMI Galil AR
The IMI Galil AR can be seen during the Behind the scenes video.
FN FAL "G Series"
A G Series FN FAL is seen at E3 and the villain trailer.
FN SCAR-H
An FN SCAR-H has appeared in the second behind the scenes video.
QBZ-97
The "Type 95" has been confirmed to appear, its pickup symbol appearing in the E3 demo. Most likely this will be the same QBZ-97 with 95-style trigger guard seen in "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3".
SIG SG 556
The brand new SIG SG 556 with green furniture was seen in a demo video for the multiplayer map "Turbine".
SMR
A fictional semi automatic rifle that was first seen in one of the multiplayer reveals.
Type 25
A fictional rifle based on the QB series called the Type 25 was used by David Mason in the E3 Demo. It is similar to the Type 95, but with a slightly modified exterior.
M16A1
An M16A1 can be seen in the hands of a soldier possibly during one of the "flashback eras" of the game. Judging by the 20-round magazine and the handguard it is an A1 model.
Unknown Rifle
An unknown rifle was seen in the second behind the scenes video.
Sniper Rifle
DSR-50
A DSR-50 was used in the multiplayer reveal.
FN Ballista
The FNH Ballista is a bolt-action sniper rifle that is available without a scope attachment.
Storm PSR
The Storm PSR is a fictional anti-material rifle fitted with an x-ray scope to view targets through solid barriers. As seen on the E3 demo, it features a unique ability as it is charged by holding down the trigger for a maximum of 5 bullets; this costs more ammunition to use. On the side of the weapon, it indicates that this uses Metal Storm technology; this is confirmed by the fact that the reloading animation has the player insert a single stack of bullets into the rear of the weapon (as Metal Storm technology uses superposed ammunition).
SVU-AS Dragunov
The SVU-AS Dragunov with a finish similar to the SVU was seen in the gamescon video of the map "Aftermath".
Machine Guns
Browning M2HB
A Browning M2HB can be seen on the back of a truck in the reveal and in the Los Angeles gameplay trailer they are used by the invading Chinese soldiers.
DShK
A DShK heavy machine gun was seen in the second behind the scenes video.
FN M249 SAW
Several soldiers are also seen wielding M249 SAWs in the reveal.
General Dynamics GAU-12/U
A General Dynamics GAU-12/U was seen in the villain trailer mounted on a C.L.A.W AI weapon.
General Dynamics GAU-19/A
A General Dynamics GAU-19/A was seen in the preview for the multiplayer map "Turbine".
Mk 48 Mod 1
The Mk 48 Mod 1 was seen in the E3 demo.
LSAT Light Machine Gun
A barley visible HUD icon for the LSAT Light Machine Gun was seen in the Strike Force E3 demo.
Launchers
FHJ-18 AA Launcher
A fictional anti-air launcher similar in appearance to a FIM-92A Stinger is seen in the Multiplayer trailer.
Hawk MM1 grenade launcher
The Hawk MM1 grenade launcher appears in the Behind the Scenes video.
RPG 7
The RPG-7 is seen in E3 gameplay used by the invading Chinese forces. This time around it has a sling wrapped around, as well as a different rear sight and warhead.
Shotguns
Kel-Tec KSG
The Kel-Tec KSG is seen in the hands of LAPD officers multiple times in the E3 demo.
M1216
A possible new member of the SRM Arms 1200 Series Shotguns is seen in the multiplayer trailer. The weapon is unique in that the magazine is a tube containing four stacks of shotgun shells, and the tube must be manually rotated after one stack is emptied. The M1216 appears to shoot four shells at a time, indicating the 16 shell variant (4 tubes of 4).
Remington 870 MCS
The Remington 870 MCS with a saddler shell holder, a different rear sight, a sling warped around it like the Stakeout from the first game, and an attachment called "Long Barrel" will be available. Named the "R-870 MCS" in game and was first seen at Gamescon.
Saiga 12S
A blurry HUD icon for the Saiga 12S can was spotted in one of the multiplayer map demos.
Unknown Shotgun
An unknown futuristic looking shotgun looks like Benelli M3T is held by Harper in the reveal.
Mounted Weapons
Gryazev-Shipunov GSh-30-2
Same conglomerate of Mi-35M and Mi-24P seen in the Modern Warfare 3 appears again, this time menacing our horse riding protagonists, armed with a twin GSh-30-2 mounted on the fuselage and chin mounted Yak-B gatling gun.
Metal Storm Redback RWS
The fictional "Assault Sentry Drone" tracked UCVs mount a Metal Storm Redback RWS four-barrel repeating grenade launcher in a module on their left-hand side.
Yakushev-Borzov Yak-B
Same conglomerate of Mi-35M and Mi-24P seen in the Modern Warfare 3 appears again, this time menacing our horse riding protagonists, armed with a twin GSh-30-2 mounted on the fuselage and chin mounted Yak-B gatling gun.
