Colt Python
Deputy Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) carries a six-inch barreled Colt Python .357 Magnum revolver as his duty sidearm in the series. He is seen using the revolver prominently in the series premiere "Days Gone Bye" (S1E01). Of note is that when Grimes fires the gun in a very tight, enclosed space (in this case, inside a tank), it actually severely disorients him and hurts his hearing, unlike most movies or shows that have people firing guns indoors or in other enclosed spaces without being fazed. Rick loads his Colt Python with rounds given by Shane Walsh (Jon Bernthal) in "Tell It to the Frogs" (S1E03). Rick holds his Colt Python on Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) in "Vatos" (S1E04). Grimes notably uses the revolver twice in Season 1, wielding it in "Wildfire" (S1E05) and once again fires it as the group flee the CDC in Season 1's finale "TS-19" (S1E06).
+
Former King County Sheriff deputy Richard Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) uses a six-inch barreled Colt Python as his primary weapon during the season. In a flashback at the beginning of "Days Gone Bye" (S1E01), it is revealed that the Python was actually his service weapon before the apocalypse. Rick gets the weapon back by cleaning out the police station armory and uses it to fight off a horde of walkers in Atlanta. He continues to carry the gun in a holster in "Guts" (S1E02). Rick reloads the Python with rounds given by Shane before returning to Atlanta in "Tell It to the Frogs" (S1E03). In "Vatos" (S1E04), he first points the gun at a pissed off Daryl, and at the end of the episode he shoots the walkers in the camp several times. When Daryl is about to attack Jim with a pickaxe in "Wildfire" (S1E05), Rick aims at him again. <!--Grimes notably uses the revolver twice in Season 1 and once again fires it as the group flee the CDC in Season 1's finale "TS-19" (S1E06). -->

Just before the group leaves for the CDC Headquarters in "Wildfire" (S1E05), Rick (Andrew Lincoln) gives Morales (Juan Gabriel Pareja) what appears to be a Smith & Wesson Model 586 in .357 Magnum from the bag of guns when Morales and his family decide to leave the group to find the rest of their kin in Birmingham. Shane is heard saying ".357?" as well when Rick is getting it out of the bag.

What appears to be a nickel Taurus Model 85 is used by Morgan Jones (Lennie James) in the series premiere "Days Gone Bye" (S1E01). It has a 5-shot cylinder but is not of the S&W J-frame series. The unique curved ejector shroud on a Taurus Model 85 is barely noticeable in the photos below. ==Beretta 92FS==
Sheriffs Deputies of the King County Sheriff's Department, Linden County Sheriff's Department and Deputy Shane Walsh (Jon Bernthal) carry the Glock 17 as their duty sidearms in the series first episode "Days Gone Bye" (S1E01). One of the deputies was told by Grimes to have a round chambered (which, when he does check, we can see the gun is actually empty) and also (incorrectly) to make sure the safety was off. A Glock 17 is also taken by Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) from Rick's gun bag to confront the Vatos in in "Vatos" (S1E04). Shane is seen carrying his duty sidearm Glock 17 at the end of "Vatos" (S1E04). In Season 1's finale "TS-19" (S1E06), Shane is seen firing the pistol when they are fleeing the CDC headquarters when he takes a shot on a zombie as they make a break for the vehicles. It can also be seen in Shane's hands in the opening flashback of the same episode in the hospital.

Hiding in an abandoned tank from a horde of walkers at the end of the series premiere "Days Gone Bye" (S1E01), Rick (Andrew Lincoln) takes a Beretta 92FS (standing in for a U.S. Military-issue M9) from the holster of a dead soldier (Sam Witwer). After checking the magazine at the beginning of "Guts" (S1E02), Rick tells Glenn over the radio that he has "one clip, 15 rounds" and fires at the walkers after getting out of the tank. Once in a safe place he puts the empty pistol in Glenn's backpack. <!--In Season 1's finale "TS-19" (S1E06), a flashback shows a Beretta wielded by a U.S. soldier when he shoots the possibly infected people in the head after being executed by automatic fire at the hospital. A Glock 17 appears to be the primary service sidearm of King County Sheriff deputies, including Shane Walsh (Jon Bernthal), Leon Basset (Linds Edwards) and Lambert Kendal (Jim R. Coleman), involved in the interception of the criminals' car in the flashback at the beginning of "Days Gone Bye" (S1E01). Several Linden County Sheriff deputies  also use handguns in the shootout. Shane continues to carry the gun in a holster in "Guts" (S1E02) and "Tell It to the Frogs" (S1E03). In "Vatos" (S1E04), Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) takes the Glock out of the sheriff's bag, checks and takes it with him to the second meeting with the Vatos gang, tucking the gun behind his back. Shane also briefly uses the gun during the walker attack on the camp at the end of the episode. <!--In Season 1's finale "TS-19" (S1E06), Shane is seen firing his Glock 17 pistol when they are fleeing the CDC headquarters when he takes a shot on a zombie as they make a break for the vehicles. It can also be seen in Shane's hands in the opening flashback of the same episode in the hospital. -->

<!--==Colt M4A1==
Mossberg 590
+
Several M4A1 assault rifles can be seen abandoned with several dead U.S. soldiers and other military personnel around the CDC Headquarters in "Wildfire" (S1E05). In a flashback, U.S. Army soldiers appear to be armed with Colt M4A1s fitted with Aimpoint CompM2 CCO scopes in the opening of the Season 1's finale "TS-19" (S1E06) when Shane witnesses the execution of possibly infected people inside the hospital. Some M4A1s in the hands of some U.S. soldiers are actually M4A1/M16 Non Guns with Trijicon ACOG scopes attached on top of the carrying handle rear sight, most notably seen when one soldier (dressed in U.S. 3 color desert uniform) is grabbed by a walker and wildly empties his magazine unintentionally into his fellow soldiers. An M4A1 is also carried by Dr. Edwin Jenner (Noah Emmerich) in the same episode when he first confronts the group of survivors, eventually allowing them safety inside. Jenner tells the group there were plenty of M4A1 carbines laying around that he taught himself how to use one.
In the series premiere "Days Gone Bye" (S1E01), a Mossberg 590 is first seen during a flashback being used by Rick's partner, Shane Walsh (Jon Bernthal) during the shootout with the suspects in the overturned vehicle just before Rick is wounded in the line of duty. The shotgun is fitted with an extended magazine tube, heat-shield, collapsible KNOXX SpecOps NRS stock with pistol grip. It appears again later in Shane's possession at the survivor camp and can notably be seen being used by Shane on the attacking walkers at the camp in "Vatos" (S1E04). In "Wildfire" (S1E05), Shane is seen with the shotgun when he and Rick patrol the woods. Shane also loses his cool when trapped in the CDC Headquarters in the Season 1 finale "TS-19" (S1E06) and uses it to blow up some computer monitors before being disarmed by Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Shane later uses it in an attempt to bust the glass to escape the CDC which fails. Once outside, Shane uses the Mossberg to blast down walkers as the group runs to the vehicles.

For the remainder of "Vatos" (S1E04), Rick (Andrew Lincoln) appears to be using a Harrington & Richardson Pardner Pump Compact with a wood stock to replace the Mossberg he gave to Guillermo. He fires it at walkers in the camp during the attack and then carries it throughout "Wildfire" (S1E05) and upon arriving at the CDC in Season 1's finale "TS-19" (S1E06).

Several Linden County Sheriff deputies chasing a car of criminals are armed with Mossberg 500 Persuader shotguns with extended magtube in the flashback at the beginning of "Days Gone Bye" (S1E01). Rick (Andrew Lincoln) uses the Mossberg during an encounter with the Vatos gang in "Vatos" (S1E04). T-Dog (Singleton) also loads the shotgun before the second encounter, but later uses the Remington instead. After learning of Guillermo's (Neil Brown Jr.) good intentions, Rick gives him his Mossberg.
In "Guts" (S1E02), Merle Dixon (Michael Rooker) is seen firing a Winchester Model 70 bolt-action rifle atop a building at walkers and also uses the rifle to rifle-butt T-Dog in a disagreement before Rick intervenes. An unscoped Winchester also appears to be held by one of the Vatos in "Vatos" (S1E04). Dale fires a scoped Winchester Model 70 at the walkers during the camp attack and carries it to the CDC. The rifle is only seen for a brief few seconds when Rick and the others are allowed into their compound.

Rick's Bag of Guns
In the series premiere "Days Gone Bye" (S1E01), Rick (Andrew Lincoln) is seen ransacking the sheriff's station armory and throughout the first season is seen with a duffle bag of guns. Later in the episode, he is seen having to abandon this bag when attacked by swarm of walkers. For the majority of the time in the premiere episode, the shotguns sticking out of the bag appear to be foam props. Later in the season, the bag ends up in the hands and used by fellow survivors in the group or himself, or given away. At least until "Vatos" (S1E04), the contents of the bag included six shotguns, two high-powered rifles, a dozen handguns, and seven hundred rounds of ammunition, assorted. So far the current count from the bag is Harrington & Richardson Pardner Pump Compact, Harrington & Richardson Pardner Pump Protector, two Mossberg 500s with high-capacity magazine tube, Remington 870 Wingmaster, Remington 870, Browning Automatic Rifle Safari, Remington 700 BDL, Glock 17 (possibly more than one), SIG-Sauer P226, Smith & Wesson Model 10 snub-nose and a Smith & Wesson Model 586. In reality, that many guns in one bag would make it much too heavy to simply carry slung over the shoulder.

Back at his police station in "Days Gone Bye" (S1E01) Rick packs all available weapons into a bag and takes it with him to Atlanta, where he loses it to a horde of walkers. For the majority of the time in the premiere episode, the shotguns sticking out of the bag appear to be foam props. After encountering a hostile group in Atlanta in "Vatos" (S1E04), Rick, Daryl, and T-Dog arm themselves with shotguns from the returned bag, and later Rick leaves some of the weapons to Guillermo. The first season is created by Robert Kirkman and Frank Darabont and starts the story of the survival of former sheriff's deputy Rick Grimes and his group. After being injured on one of the calls, Rick falls into a coma, and when he wakes up, he is horrified to realize that the world has fallen after a terrible pandemic. Now he must adapt to the new environment and find his family. The season consists of six episodes and was premiered on October 31, 2010 on AMC.

The following weapons were used in Season 1 of the television series The Walking Dead:

SPOILERS.jpg WARNING! THIS PAGE CONTAINS SPOILERS!

Revolvers

Colt Python

Colt Python nickel-plated with 6" barrel - .357 Magnum
In the series premiere "Days Gone Bye" (S1E01), a flashback shows Rick wielding his Python.
Rick put his Python to the head of zombified deputy Leon Basset (Linds Edwards).
Finding himself under the tank, trapped on all sides by walkers, Rick briefly attempts to kill himself, but notices a hatch in the bottom of the tank.
At the end of the episode he puts the gun to the head of the undead soldier. When Grimes fires the gun in a very tight, enclosed space (in this case, inside a tank), it actually severely disorients him and hurts his hearing, unlike most movies or shows that have people firing guns indoors or in other enclosed spaces without being fazed. The undead soldier is portrayed by actor Sam Witwer (whose story would have been told in Frank Darabont's original script for the Season 2 premiere).
Rick reloads the revolver at the end of "Tell It to the Frogs" (S1E03).
Rick puts the revolver to Daryl's head in "Vatos" (S1E04) after the group fails to find Merle on the roof.
He also fires it during the walker attack on the camp at the end of the episode.
"We don't kill the living."
Grimes points the Python at Daryl in "Wildfire" (S1E05).

Smith & Wesson Model 10

One of the Vatos gang members named Felipe (Noel Gugliemi) is armed with a snub nose Smith & Wesson Model 10 in "Vatos" (S1E04). When Jim gets really sick in "Wildfire" (S1E05), Rick (Andrew Lincoln) offers him a Model 10, but he refuses.

Later in the episode, he threatens the group with the revolver during a tense conversation.
In "Wildfire" (S1E05), Rick offers Jim a Smith & Wesson Model 10 as they leave him.

Smith & Wesson Model 15

A member of the Vatos Gang named Jorge (James Gonzaba) uses what appears to be a Smith & Wesson Model 15 during "Vatos" (S1E04).

Rick offers the revolver to Morales. Later, the revolver is seen tucked into his pants.

Taurus Model 85

Morgan Jones (Lennie James), the first living person Rick meets after his coma, is armed with a nickel Taurus Model 85 throughout "Days Gone Bye" (S1E01). He first points the revolver at Rick, mistaking his wound for a bite, and then pulls it out at the end of the episode when the walker approaches him outside the police station.

Pistols

Beretta 92FS

Browning Hi-Power Silver Chrome

Merle Dixon (Michael Rooker) carries a Browning Hi-Power Silver Chrome tucked in his pants and threatens T-Dog with it in "Guts" (S1E02). After disarming him, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) takes the gun and uses it in an attempt to steal a truck for the group. Browning is also briefly seen tucked into Rick's pants at the beginning of "Tell It to the Frogs" (S1E03). Daryl (Norman Reedus) carries his brother's gun holstered in "Wildfire" (S1E05) and "TS-19" (S1E06).

Merle Dixon (Michael Rooker) snatches the Browning and points it at lying T-Dog in "Guts" (S1E02).
He also aims the gun at fellow survivors during the conflict on the rooftop.
After taking possession of the pistol, Rick puts the gun to Dixon's head.
Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) aims the Hi-Power at the walkers in the mall as they burst through the first door.
The tucked pistol is also briefly seen at the beginning of "Tell It to the Frogs" (S1E03).

Colt M1911A1

In the flashback seen at the beginning of the series premiere "Days Gone Bye" (S1E01), a third criminal (Brent Bernhard), unmentioned by the dispatcher, climbs out of an overturned car and fires a Colt M1911A1 at Rick, badly wounding him. Another pistol is also seen in the police armory later in the episode. T-Dog (IronE Singleton) is briefly seen with what appears to be a M1911A1 during a confrontation with Guillermo's men in "Vatos" (S1E04).

CZ 75 "Pre-B"

Before meeting Guillermo's men again in "Vatos" (S1E04), Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) takes and tucks a CZ 75 "Pre-B", but never fires it. In the second season, the gun is probably replaced by a Browning BDA.

Glock 17

Shane's holstered Glock is seen in "Vatos" (S1E04) when he tries to calm Jim down.
Daryl loads up the gun from before meeting up with the Vatos gang.
The holstered pistol is visible during the standoff.

SIG-Sauer P226

Rick (Andrew Lincoln) pulls a SIG-Sauer P226 out of the sheriff's bag in "Vatos" (S1E04) and checks the magazine before tucking it behind his back in addition to the Colt Python in his holster.

Smith & Wesson 3913 "Ladysmith"

In "Guts" (S1E02) Andrea Harrison (Laurie Holden) points a Smith & Wesson 3913 "Ladysmith" at Rick angry about attracting walkers. However, she puts the gun down and later temporarily gives it to Rick (Andrew Lincoln), who explains how to take the safety off. She later in the episode hands the pistol to Glenn (Steven Yeun) for his own protection when he and Rick make their way to the escape van,but he's not using it. Andrea is also seen twice with the S&W in "Wildfire" (S1E05), first fending off Rick and then near CDC at the end of the episode.

Rifles

Browning Automatic Rifle Safari

T-Dog (IronE Singleton) takes a scoped Browning Automatic Rifle Safari from the sheriff's bag and uses it to cover Rick and Daryl at the meeting with Guillermo and his men in "Vatos" (S1E04). Later at the nursing home, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) leaves the rifle for the gang after learning of their good intentions.

Remington 700 BDL

Sneaking into the police station near the end of "Days Gone Bye" (S1E01), Rick (Andrew Lincoln) checks the scope of a Remington 700 BDL and offers it to Morgan (Lennie James). Morgan later uses it to shoot walkers in the neighborhood.

Remington 700 VLS

Dale Horvath (Jeffrey DeMunn) carries a scopped Remington 700 VLS (Varmint Laminated Stock) since "Guts" (S1E02) slung over his back as he keeps watch over camp. Besides Dale, the rifle appears in the hands of Ed Peletier (Adam Minarovich) and another unnamed survivor at the lookout position in "Tell It to the Frogs" (S1E03). Dale also carries it in "Vatos" (S1E04) and "Wildfire" (S1E05).

Winchester Model 70

Merle Dixon (Michael Rooker) fires a scoped Winchester Model 70 atop a building at walkers in "Guts" (S1E02), drawing the attention of more until Rick (Andrew Lincoln) snatches it away. Morales (Juan Gabriel Pareja) also later holds the rifle during the Atlanta escape. At least one member of the Vatos gang is armed with an unscoped Winchester in "Vatos" (S1E04). At the end of the episode, Dale (Jeffrey DeMunn) also fires the rifle (instead of his usual Remington) during the walkers' attack on the camp.

Shotguns

Harrington & Richardson Pardner Pump Compact

After giving some of the weapons to Guillermo and his gang in "Vatos" (S1E04), Rick (Andrew Lincoln) replaces the Mossberg with a Harrington & Richardson Pardner Pump Compact and uses it while defending the camp from a horde of walkers. He also carries it throughout "Wildfire" (S1E05) and upon arriving at the CDC in "TS-19" (S1E06).

Mossberg 500

Several Linden County Sheriff deputies chasing a car of criminals are armed with Mossberg 500 Persuader shotguns with extended magtube in the flashback at the beginning of "Days Gone Bye" (S1E01). Rick (Andrew Lincoln) uses the Mossberg during an encounter with the Vatos gang in "Vatos" (S1E04). T-Dog (IronE Singleton) also loads the shotgun before the second encounter, but later uses the Remington instead. After learning of Guillermo's (Neil Brown Jr.) good intentions, Rick gives him his Mossberg.

Mossberg 590

King County Sheriff deputy Shane Walsh (Jon Bernthal) uses a Mossberg 590 shotgun fitted with a heatshield and a collapsible KNOXX SpecOps NRS stock with pistol grip during a shootout with criminals in a flashback at the beginning of "Days Gone Bye" (S1E01). It appears again later in Shane's possession at the survivor camp in "Tell It to the Frogs" (S1E03). Shane uses the Mossberg during the attack by a horde of walkers on the camp at the end of "Vatos" (S1E04). In "Wildfire" (S1E05), He is seen with the shotgun when he and Rick patrol the woods.

Remington 870 Wingmaster

Rick takes several Remington 870 Wingmasters from the police station in "Days Gone Bye" (S1E01). While driving past a farm Rick notices a dead family killing themselves with the shotgun. Daryl (Norman Reedus) takes the Wingmaster from the gun bag in "Vatos" (S1E04) and uses it first in a conflict with Guillermo's gang and then while fending off an attack by walkers on the camp.

Remington 870 Police Magnum

Rick (Andrew Lincoln) checks a Remington 870 Police Magnum at the police station in "Days Gone Bye" (S1E01) before putting it in the bag with the other weapons. T-Dog (IronE Singleton) arms himself with the Remington on his way to the gang's hideout in "Vatos" (S1E04) and later during the walker's siege on the survivor camp.

Machine Guns

Browning M2HB

Several mockups of Browning M2HB machine guns appear first on Bell UH-1 "Huey" helicopter near the Harrison Memorial Hospital at the beginning of "Days Gone Bye" (S1E01), and at the end of the episode two more are seen mounted atop a British Chieftain tank (presumably standing in for an M1 Abrams) and a sandbag barricade on a street in Atlanta. The same machine gun is also briefly seen in "Guts" (S1E02).

Other

M67 Hand Grenade (M69 Training version)

Rick (Andrew Lincoln) finds an M67 Hand Grenade next to a dead soldier in a tank at the beginning of "Guts" (S1E02) and takes it with him when he escapes. In reality, the grenade is actually an M69, the inert training version of the live M67 grenade, noted in some shots with a bit of the blue paint showing through the over painted OD green color.

Horton Scout HD 125

A Horton Scout HD 125 crossbow appears as Daryl Dixon's (Norman Reedus) primary weapon in the season starting in "Tell It to the Frogs" (S1E03). He first hunts a deer with it, and then uses it during the Atlanta outing in "Vatos" (S1E04).

Rick's Bag of Guns

Back at his police station in "Days Gone Bye" (S1E01) Rick packs all available weapons into a bag and takes it with him to Atlanta, where he loses it to a horde of walkers. For the majority of the time in the premiere episode, the shotguns sticking out of the bag appear to be foam props. After encountering a hostile group in Atlanta in "Vatos" (S1E04), Rick, Daryl, and T-Dog arm themselves with shotguns from the returned bag, and later Rick leaves some of the weapons to Guillermo. So far the current count from the bag is Harrington & Richardson Pardner Pump Compact, Harrington & Richardson Pardner Pump Protector, two Mossberg 500s with high-capacity magazine tube, Remington 870 Wingmaster, Remington 870, Browning Automatic Rifle Safari, Glock 17 (possibly more than one), SIG-Sauer P226, Smith & Wesson Model 10 snub-nose and a Smith & Wesson Model 586. In reality, that many guns in one bag would make it much too heavy to simply carry slung over the shoulder.

The Remington's forend is seen in the bag as Rick approaches Atlanta in "Days Gone Bye" (S1E01). Judging by the amount of firearms seen, his pack in reality should weigh around 70 pounds.
The filled-in barrels can be seen, proving they are lightweight props.
When Rick saw the helicopter fly by two Remingtons and the Mossberg are seen.
When Rick opens the bag in "Vatos" (S1E04) a Remington 870 Wingmaster, Mossberg 500, Stevens 67, H&R Pardner Pump Protector and Compact are visible.

"M1A1 Abrams"

In the series premiere "Days Gone Bye" (S1E01), Rick is seen having to take refuge in what is probably supposed to be an M1A1 Abrams tank. The tank in the episode is actually a British Chieftain with a modified turret to resemble the M1A1.

The M1A1 Abrams mockup in the series premiere "Days Gone Bye" (S1E01). As seems common for Chieftains standing in for other tanks, the thermal sleeve has been removed from the L11A5 L/55 120mm rifled cannon. This appears to be a Mark 11 tank, mounting the "Stillbrew" bolt-on armor package for the driver's position and turret, and minus the .50 cal coaxial ranging machine gun and the large infrared searchlight box on the left hand side of the turret.
Rick passes the tank. The fake M2HB is visible on the hatch, with a real M2HB in the foreground.
