Battlefield 2: Modern Combat is the first Battlefield title released for consoles and is an offshoot of Battlefield 2, which was released on PC earlier in 2005. The game features a single player story campaign set in an armed conflict between NATO forces (comprised of both US Armed Forces and European militaries) and the People's Liberation Army of China over influence in Kazakhstan.
The game features an Xbox/PS2 verson and a 360 version, the 360 version has massively redone visuals.
The following weapons appear in the video game Battlefield 2: Modern Combat:
Handguns
All kits have pistols as sidearms, and the Spec Ops and Sniper kits have suppressed variants.
Beretta 92F
US forces are equipped with the Beretta 92F. It appears as the "Beretta M92F".
Glock 19
The Glock 19 is issued to NATO's EU faction, erroneously referred to as the Glock 17.
QSZ-92
Chinese PLA utilize the QSZ-92 as their sidearm of choice.
Tariq
The Tariq, an Iraqi copy of the Beretta M1951, is used by the MEC forces in multiplayer.
Submachine Guns
All Specialist kits wield SMGs by default, and all are equipped with sound suppressors and Aimpoint CompM2 reflex sights.
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
The US Specialist kit is equipped with the Heckler & Koch MP5A3.
Heckler & Koch UMP45
EU Specialists use the Heckler & Koch UMP as their SMG of choice.
Micro Uzi
The Micro Uzi is only mounted on the snowmobiles in the map "Frost Bite".
Type 79
The Type 79 is the SMG issued to the PLA Specialist role.
Shotguns
Combat Engineer roles are armed with combat shotguns for anti-personnel use. As with the light machine guns, the shotguns do not have an aiming option.
Benelli M3T Super 90
The EU Engineer class is armed with a Benelli M3 Super 90, although it has the SPAS-12's inventory icon and third person model. It also functions in the pump mode, unlike the SPAS-12.
Franchi SPAS-12
American Engineers are armed with Franchi SPAS-12 shotguns, set to semi-automatic function. As the other shotguns are pump-actions, the SPAS's higher firerate gives it an advantage.
Mossberg 500 Cruiser
The Mossberg 500 Cruiser with a heat shield and extended magazine tube is available to the MEC Engineer kit.
RMB-93
Oddly, PLA Combat Engineers utilize the Russian RMB-93 forward pump action shotgun despite the presence of a Norinco Hawk 982 in the original PC version.
Assault Rifles
As standard for modern-themed Battlefield games, the Assault class wields Assault Rifles combined with underbarrel grenade launchers.
AK-47
The MEC Assault in Multiplayer uses the AK-47 with an underslung GP-25.
AKS-74U
The AKS-74U is part of the MEC Spec Ops kit in multiplayer. It has a suppressor and Kobra sight.
Colt M4A1 Carbine
The American Assault kit is equipped with an M4A1/M203 combo, with an Aimpoint CompM2 sight.
Enfield L85A2
EU Assault troops wield Enfield L85A2 rifles outfitted with SUSAT scopes and M203 launchers attached to a modified original SA80 style handguard.
QBZ-95
Assault kits of the PLA are equipped with QBZ-95 rifles and underslung Type 91 launchers.
Sniper Rifles
The Sniper role uses scoped Sniper Rifles as their primary weapon. All the rifles are portrayed as manual-action, despite the Barrett M95 being the only actual bolt-action in the game.
Barrett M95
The US Sniper class is equipped with the Barrett M95 bullpup .50BMG bolt action.
QBU-88
Chinese Army snipers use the QBU-88 sniper rifle. Bizarrely, it shares animations with the turnbolt M95 despite having a completely different operating mechanism, and the SVU reload animation could've been used instead.
SVD Dragunov
The SVD appears as the MEC forces sniper rifle. It functions as a bolt action, like the QBU-88 and SVU.
SVU Dragunov
EU Sniper kits rather oddly use the SVU Dragunov as their sniper rifle of choice, despite it being a Russian design.
Machine Guns
Machine Guns are used by the Support role.
M249 SAW
Both the US and EU Support classes are equipped with the M249 SAW. It is erroneously shown with the belt feeding into the STANAG magwell.
QJY-88
The PLA Support is armed with the QJY-88 light machine gun.
PKM Machine Gun
The PKM machine gun appears for the MEC support role in multiplayer.
Launchers
Carl Gustav M3
The Carl Gustav M3 is used by the European Forces Engineer, erroneously referred to as the Carl Gustav M2.
Mk 153 SMAW
US Engineers use the Mk 153 SMAW as their AT launcher.
PF-98
Chinese Engineers are equipped with the PF-98 for anti-tank use.
RPG-7
MEC Engineers have the RPG-7 as their AT launcher.
Explosives
AN/M8 smoke grenade
The AN/M8 HC smoke grenade is usable by all factions' Assault and Sniper kits.
M61 hand grenade
US and EU Assault and Support roles have M61 Hand Grenades.
M84 stun grenade
The Spec Ops kit for all forces includes M84 stun grenades.
RGO-78 hand grenade
The RGO-78 hand grenade is available to the MEC Assault and Support kits.
Type 79 hand grenade
The Type 79 hand grenade is available to the PLA Assault and Support kits.
Mounted Weapons
Browning M2HB
NATO vehicles and stationary turrets use Browning M2HB machine guns.
Bofors 40mm L/70
The Swedish Combat Vehicle 90 used by EU forces is armed with a Bofors 40mm L/70 autocannon.
General Dynamics GAU-17/A
The General Dynamics GAU-17/A is mounted on both NATO helicopters and the Harbin Z-9.
Kord
Kord heavy machine guns are present in the game's final mission and are presumably the MEC's HMG in multiplayer.
M230 Chain Gun
NATO's AH-64D Apache Longbow sports its M230 Chain Gun nose turret.
Mk 19 Grenade Launcher
The Mk 19 grenade launcher is mounted on DPV sandrails and NATO patrol boats.
QJC-88 heavy machine gun
QJC-88 HMGs are seen on PLA ground vehicles and in mounted turrets.
QLZ-87
Chinese attack boats and buggies are armed with QLZ-87 automatic grenade launchers.
Shipunov 2A42
The PLA's BMD-3 fighting vehicles are equipped with Shipunov 2A42 autocannons.
Yakushev-Borzov Yak-B
MEC Mi-24 Hinds have the chin turret mounted Yakushev-Borzov Yak-B.
