Uzi Pistol

Would you mind makeing a note in the Micro-Uzi section that there is an Uzi pistol that is identical except for being semi-automatic only and missing the folding stock?Rockwolf66 19:27, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Done. We still call the Uzi Pistols "Micro Uzis" because those are what you see in most action movies, except converted to full-auto. -MT2008 19:41, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Several questions

I feel kinda dumb asking this, but for the other Uzi variants that are chambered in .45 ACP, .22 LR, and .41 AE, does there exist any images of such variants? Or have any of these variants been used in films? --ThatoneguyJosh 00:04, 28 February 2011 (UTC)

I doubt the .41 AE and the .22 isn't very likely either, but the .45 variant has probably been used in a few movies. I also bet it wouldn't be too hard to find a picture of one. That's One Angry Duck

UZI's first look

Video Game section is a mess

The video game section for the full-size Uzi is an absolute wreck. Whoever converted it to table format didn't put a single year for any of the entries. I'll fix it, but whoever did it really needs to do the job right the first time and not half-ass things and leave messes like this for the rest of us to clean up later. Adjustable rear sight on Uzi?

Does anyone know if they ever put the adjustable rear sight designed for the Mini Uzi on later full-size Uzis? Otherwise I think that means that an Uzi that has an adjustable sight (such as in The Usual Suspects, Falling Down and RoboCop) is actually a Uzi Carbine Model B with a chopped barrel. For example I think the one listed on The Specialists is actually an Uzi Carbine, as you can see the "Action Arms" stamping on the rear of the receiver, who were the Uzi Carbine importers. If this is the case, is it worth putting them in the Uzi Carbine section like with chopped HK94s? --commando552 (talk) 18:03, 23 May 2013 (EDT)

Micro Uzi Date Incorrect?

This page states the Micro Uzi was introduced in 1986, but the movie Commando, released in 1985 and likely filmed earlier than 85, has a Micro Uzi in it. Is the date on this page incorrect? --JackalUnderscore (talk) 14:26, 9 January 2022 (EST)

According to modernfirearms.net the Mini and Micro variants were developed in 1982 and 1983 respectively. The appearance of the Micro in Commando appears to confirm this statement and renders the 1986 claim erroneous. Scratch that, the explanation is that the variant in Commando is Uzi pistol introduced in 1984. --Nanomat (talk) 22:23, 9 January 2022 (EST)

Correct, the Uzi Pistol came first, Micro Uzi second (which is rare - usually, the full-auto weapon is developed first). Was the Uzi pistol ever sold with a stock? It seems Year of the Dragon had a "Micro Uzi" (Presumably Uzi Pistol since the movie is from 1985) with a stock. FriendlyHornet 11:04, 02 february 2024 (BRT)

Due to the way US laws work, there'd be no real reason to sell it with a stock (since putting a stock on a handgun makes it a "Short Barreled Rifle", and incurs $200.00 in extra taxes and several months of waiting), though it wouldn't be especially hard for a movie gunsmith to put a stock on one. So i guess the Micro Uzi stock did not exist until the full auto Micro Uzi came out in 1986. The one in the film is probably a custom gun then; maybe using the similar Mini Uzi stock. FriendlyHornet 16:10, 02 february 2024 (BRT)
