A custom [[Colt Python]] can be found in a tombstone in the Cemetery after completing the puzzle with the three emblems there. Ammo for this weapon is rare, but it can kill most enemies with one shot and is very effective against bosses.

In Jill's scenario, she can take the weapon from Barry during a small altercation between Jill and Barry. Coming with 6 rounds, no extra ammo can be found for the weapon in Jill's scenario. Barry's revolver is apparently intended to be a .44 Magnum [[Colt Anaconda]]: it is named "Barry's 44 Magnum", it is marked "Silver Serpent 44 Magnum" on the side of the barrel, the weapon description states that it fires .44 Magnum rounds, and dialogue refers to it as an Anaconda. However, it can be identified as a Python by the screw above the trigger.

In Chris's scenario, a similar but completely distinct revolver can be found inside a tombstone in the Cemetery by collecting several emblems around the mansion and putting them on designated slots in the area. This revolver, named simply as "Magnum Revolver", is more or less identical to Barry's Python, but is marked as "Silver Serpent 357 Magnum" on its side, has a smooth grip texture, and no Barry signatures. Description states that this weapon is chamabered in .357 Magnum. Unlike Jill's scenario, additional .357 ammo can be found throughout the campaign, albeit at a high rarity.

Barry Burton carries a custom Python as his side arm, it's referred to in game as the Silver Serpent ether for licensing purposes or it's the name Barry gave it, oddly, it has similar customizations as the Colt Python you find normally in the game, however, with an additional inch or so on the barrel and a textured inlay on the grip, with Barry's signature also engraved in the handle. This gun can only be acquired on Jill's scenario if the player chooses not to trust him and keep the weapon instead of returning it.  Extra ammunition for the gun does not exist in game and thus it cannot be reloaded. Once all six shots have been fired the gun is rendered useless. It should be noted that this weapon is really powerful, especially against bosses.

Even though the text says the revolver uses .44 Magnum rounds, and the dialogue refers to it as an Anaconda, the model used is clearly a custom Python, not an Anaconda. The screw above the trigger mechanism is the telltale sign.

Resident Evil (2002)

Resident Evil (often called Resident Evil: Remake or simply REmake within the fandom) is the 2002 third-person survival horror game remake of the original 1996 video game. The remake was first released for the Nintendo Gamecube and the game retells the story of the original Resident Evil but with better graphics (and acting), new environments, and closer ties to the chronologically later games in the series. In 2014, Capcom announced, by popular demand, they'd be releasing what was initially a Nintendo-only title (the game having been ported, along with Resident Evil Zero to the Wii) for the current generation consoles and Steam; this HD Remaster was released on November 27th in Japan and January 20th in the US/EU.

The following weapons appear in the video game Resident Evil (2002 VG):

Handguns

Beretta 92FS "Samurai Edge"

The S.T.A.R.S (Special Tactics And Rescue Service) standard-issue "Samurai Edge" custom Beretta 92FS Brigadier, first introduced to the series in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, replaces the generic Beretta 92FS pistols from the original game. Their slides are engraved with "S.T.A.R.S. - R.P.D. SPECIAL TEAM" on the left, and "Mod. SAMURAI EDGE. LAW ENFORCEMENT USE ONLY" on the right. They sport custom wood and synthetic grips with the S.T.A.R.S. emblem on it, target sights, an extended slide catch, and a stainless steel barrel. Barry identifies the weapon as an "M92F", which is incorrect because the base gun is for one a 92FS, and two Beretta does not use M-number designations.

The Samurai Edge is used by most S.T.A.R.S. members, including Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield, Rebecca Chambers, and Albert Wesker. Wesker's Samurai Edge is a further modified two-tone version with an full-length under-barrel rail, a skeletonized hammer, and a extended beavertail. Barry Burton carries a revolver as his sidearm, though a special .40 S&W Samurai Edge ostensibly used by Barry Burton can be unlocked for New Game playthroughs.

As an interesting note, only Jill's Samurai Edge is usable by the player. Chris loses his handgun in the first cutscene in his scenario, and must recover Jill's fairly early on (this results in a continuity error, because if Jill is rescued later in the game, she will still have one once gameplay begins).

Beretta 96FS "Samurai Edge"

A special "Samurai Edge" chambered in .40 S&W, modified with a longer barrel, compensator, and extended magazine, can be unlocked for use as a "New Game+" weapon by beating the game on Normal or Hard difficulty in under 5 hours. The pistol is ostensibly owned by Barry Burton, though he never actually uses it in-game. Considering the chambering, this Samurai Edge is apparently not based on a Beretta 92FS, but rather the Beretta 96, which is chambered in .40 S&W.

As a deliberately overpowered "New Game+" weapon, it has unlimited ammunition and does not need to be reloaded. It is fired in a somewhat strange "fake 3-round burst" mode; every press of the fire key will make the player character fire 3 rounds, though since the pistol fires at the same fire rate as the normal Samurai Edge, it means that the player character literally pulls the trigger three times every time the fire key is pressed.

Custom Colt Python

Barry Burton carries a custom Colt Python as his sidearm instead of a Samurai Edge. The grip of the revolver features checkered grip textures and Barry's engraved signature. In Jill's scenario, she can take the weapon from Barry during a small altercation between Jill and Barry. Coming with 6 rounds, no extra ammo can be found for the weapon in Jill's scenario. Barry's revolver is apparently intended to be a .44 Magnum Colt Anaconda: it is named "Barry's 44 Magnum", it is marked "Silver Serpent 44 Magnum" on the side of the barrel, the weapon description states that it fires .44 Magnum rounds, and dialogue refers to it as an Anaconda.

Both revolvers are incredibly powerful, especially against bosses.

Chiappa Double Eagle Derringer

A Chiappa Double Eagle Derringer can be found in the Guard House behind the mansion. It only has one round loaded (the other having been used by its previous owner in a futile attempt to stop a friend from zombifying), but is still powerful enough to kill any non-boss enemy in one shot.

Shotguns

Winchester Model 1897

A high-end Winchester Model 1897 shotgun with rifle sights is found on the first floor on the east side of the mansion. It replaced the Remington 870 from the original Resident Evil version.

The weapon is booby trapped, but is easily acquired by exchanging the shotgun for a broken one, thereby keeping the trap (a crushing ceiling) from being triggered. This weapon can also be acquired without the broken shotgun on Jill's scenario, as Barry will rescue Jill from the ceiling crusher by shooting out the lock on the room and dragging Jill out before she can "fit into a sandwich." Both Chris and Jill hold the weapon at the hip, however Chris also aims it at the shoulder only during Yawn, Plant-42 and Tyrant battles.

Benelli M3 Super 90

This stainless-steel shotgun belongs to Richard Aiken from S.T.A.R.S. Bravo team. It is a custom Benelli M3 with elements from the Benelli M4 added to it, notably the collapsible stock and the top rail on the receiver.

Many fans mistakenly claim this is a M4, however the real M4 is semi-auto only while M3 has both action types. The in-game version is actually a modified M3, because many of Benelli M1, M3 and M4 stocks are interchangeable, although no such weapon is confirmed nor seen in the real world.

This weapon can only be acquired if the player manages to get Richard the serum after he's been poisoned by the giant snake Yawn. Both Chris and Jill hold the weapon at the hip (same as the Model 1897 Shotgun), however Chris also aims it at the shoulder only during Yawn, Plant-42 and Tyrant battles. It incorrectly holds 10 rounds instead of 7 like the real version. It is called "Assault Shotgun" in-game.

This shotgun makes a return in Resident Evil 4.

This configuration is extremely common on a certain style of "tri-shot" airsoft shotguns, which have telescoping stocks, rails, and a ten round capacity. It is unclear which was inspired by which, however.

Mossberg 590

In the game intro, Joseph Frost is carrying what looks like a Mossberg 590. This gun is never used in the gameplay.

Hybrid grenade launcher

A powerful grenade launcher that can use a variety of shells, but has poor range. The weapon is a combination of parts from the Arwen 37 and M4A1 carbine.

M202 FLASH

The M202 FLASH is probably the most powerful gun in the game, however the Rocket Launcher is only given to you in the final boss battle by Brad to help you in beating the Tyrant. The menu image of the launcher appears to have been referenced from the prop M202 from Commando rather than a real weapon, and has a front pistol grip and an MP5-like rear grip.

Fake M202 FLASH from Commando: note the large rectangular sling loops, less curved corners, and thick rims at the front and rear of the launcher.

Fictional Flame Thrower

This weapon is only available to Chris Redfield. It's found in the caves area and works well against spiders. In Jill's story, she instead finds a broken Flame Thrower which is needed to complete a puzzle. If the player makes the right choices, however, Barry Burton can also be seen using it against Plant 42 in Jill's scenario. The Flame Thrower's model is based on a mixture of the flame throwers from both the Alien and Aliens movies.
