Revision as of 20:15, 29 June 2010

Note: The SPAS-12 is very often shown as a pump action shotgun firing buckshot. It's a combination action shotgun, capable of pump or semi-auto with the pressing of a button. Usually, the gun is only used in pump mode in the real world when underpowered shells are used. Only full loads are capable of operating the semi-auto gas system. Also, in Semi Auto mode, it has a problem cycling even Hollywood "hot" blanks with a Blank Firing Adapter. Since 2000, production has ceased.

The SPAS-12 shotgun has appeared in the following films, television series, video games, and anime used by the following actors:

Franchi SPAS-12 with optional screw-on choke - 12 Gauge
Franchi SPAS-12 with stock folded and butt-hook removed - 12 Gauge
Franchi SPAS-12 short - 12 Gauge
Franchi SPAS-12 combat shotgun with no stock – 12 Gauge

  • Ministry of Information (M.O.I.) troops in Brazil
  • A modified version with LED lights on the heatshield in " The Wraith"

Television

  • It was used in two episodes of Miami Vice (episodes: "The Maze" and "Calderone´s Return Part 1")

  • Army Of Two (as the "FSPS-12" has many available "upgrades" only the stocks are real SPAS-12 parts.)
  • Black (incorrectly holding only 6 rounds instead of 8.)
  • Half-Life series (incorrectly depicted as able to "double fire," as if the tube magazine is a second barrel)
  • Grand Theft Auto IV (Seen in the hands of a police officer during a loading screen, but not in the game itself)
  • F.E.A.R (As the "VK-12 combat shotgun", shown to hold 12 rounds at a time)
