The Three Musketeers is the 2011 feature film adaptation of the Alexandre Dumas classic story The Three Musketeers. Filmed in 3D, this adaptation was directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and stars Ray Stevenson, Matthew Macfadyen, and Luke Evans as the title characters and the cast also includes Milla Jovovich, Logan Lerman, Christoph Waltz and Orlando Bloom.
The following weapons were used in the film The Three Musketeers:
Pistols
Wheellock Pistol
Several characters use Wheellock Pistols throughout the film, including the three musketeers: Aramis (Luke Evans), Porthos (Ray Stevenson), and Athos (Matthew MacFayden). Athos is notably seen dual-wielding the pistols in the film. Captain Rochefort (Mads Mikkelsen) also wields dual wheellock pistols in the film.
Wheellock Pocket Pistol
The Duke of Buckingham (Orlando Bloom) briefly handles a Wheellock Pocket Pistol in the Tower of London.
Bunney of London Flintlock Pocket Pistol (Denix Replica)
Milady de Winter (Milla Jovovich) uses a Denix replica of a Bunney of London 1770s ladies muff Flintlock Pocket Pistol in the beginning of the film. Later on, in what appears to be a continuity error, she wields a Denix replica of a Tula pistol described below. A Flintlock pocket pistol is also visible in among Athos' gun bag when the musketeers are planning on getting back at the Duke of Buckingham.
Kumbley & Brum Flintlock Pocket Pistol (Denix Replica)
A Denix made replica of a Flintlock Pocket Pistol crafted by Kumbley & Brum in London in 1795 is seen among Athos' gun bag.
Tula Arsenal Flintlock Pistol (Denix Replica)
Milady de Winter (Milla Jovovich) uses a Denix produced replica of the hunting pistols crafted by master Ivan Lyalin in the Tula Arsenal in 1790 in the second half of the film seemingly in a continuity error. A CGI of the same pistol is also visible during the beginning credits.
Flintlock Pistol
Porthos (Ray Stevenson) examines what looks like a Queen Anne Flintlock Pistol at a safe house after after the beginning heist.
Shotguns
Blunderbuss
Porthos (Ray Stevenson) uses a Blunderbuss during the heist in Italy in the beginning of the film.
Muskets
Matchlock Musket
French soldiers use Matchlock Muskets in the film.
Jezail Musket
Several Jezail muskets can be seen in the Duke of Buckingham's (Orlando Bloom) living quarters in the Tower of London.
Wheellock Musket
Wheellock Musket can be seen among the Duke of Buckingham's Wall of Guns.
Other
Duke of Buckingham's Wall of Guns
The Duke of Buckingham (Orlando Bloom) keeps a wall filled with several different guns in the Tower of London.
Custom Umbrella Harpoon Guns
Athos uses two self-loading, two-shot umbrella guns during the beginning of the film. The weapons are completely fictional, and made up for the film, but might have been inspired by wheellock rifle designs.
Grappling Gun
The three musketeers also have a custom grappler gun in their collection. Again, this gun is a prop and was made up for the movie.
Crossbow
Dozens of CGI crossbows are seen inside the walls during the beginning heist in Venice, Italy. They are rigged to fire spiked balls.
Denix Belgian Crossbow Pistol Replica
A Denix made replica of an 18th century Belgian crossbow pistol is seen among the guns in Athos' gun bag.
Fuse Grenade
Several fuse grenades are used by Porthos (Ray Stevenson).
Airship weapons
Flamethrower
The airship that the three musketeers steal from the Duke of Buckingham has several different offensive weapons, a customized (fictional) flamethrower among them. Athos most notably operates the hand-cranked custom flamethrower during the attack on the Tower of London.
Rotating Cannon Table
One of the offensive weapons on the airship is a rotating cannon table, similar to the real-life Nartov Mortar System, with dozens of small cannons fitted onto it, allowing a person to fire them in rapid succession. Although the table looks cool, it would most certainly not work in real life, much as real Nartov system examples.
