Iron Man 3 is the third installment in the Iron Man film franchise. Shane Black takes over as director and Robert Downey, Jr. returns as Tony Stark. Set after the events seen in The Avengers, the film finds Stark dealing with a new adversary who calls himself the Mandarin. Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle return for the sequel in addition to new cast members Ben Kingsley, Guy Pearce, and James Badge Dale. The film also is part of "Phase Two" of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that includes Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, and will culminate in the sequel The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
