General Dynamics M197 Vulcan
Introduced in this film as the new Maser attack aircraft, the ASTOL-MB93 in the film are sent to intercept Godzilla, armed with powerful twin directed-energy cannons that fire powerful maser beams (not to be confused with lasers) as well as a rotary cannon under it's nose that can be hard to see due to the blurring motion of speed and poor lighting conditions of night. The rotary cannon appears to be the General Dynamics M197 Vulcan cannon, erroneously called M61 Vulcan in supplemental material despite having the three barrels and muzzle-clamp of the former and not the 6 barrels of the latter. The rotary cannon is never used by any of the aircraft, as they all opt to exclusively use their maser cannons. Curiously supplemental material claims the ASTOL-MB93's have a second rotary cannon, using the words "dual M61 Vulcan Cannons" as well as claiming to they have 70mm rockets. Neither the second cannon nor rockets are ever seen in film.
