The first season is created by Scott M. Gimple and Eli Jorné and directed by Loren Yaconelli, Kevin Dowling and Gandja Monteiro. This season consists of six episodes featuring Maggie and Negan's journey in Manhattan in search of Hershel. The season premiered on June 18, 2023 on AMC+.

Orion Flare Gun
Maggie Rhee (Lauren Cohan) fires a Orion Flare Gun into the sky to make sure Nina (Pallavi Sastry) finds their group in "Old Acquaintances" (S1E01). Ginny (Mahina Napoleon) finds her gun in the backpack at the beginning of "Stories We Tell Ourselves" (S1E05) and later steals it and shoots it into the sky to get Negan's attention.
Smith & Wesson M&P
Simon (Steven Ogg) carry a holstered Smith & Wesson M&P in a flashback in "Everybody Wins a Prize" (S1E04).
Ruger SP101
Perlie Armstrong (Gaius Charles) picks up the Ruger SP101 revolver of his dead brother Joel in "Who's There?" (S1E02). When he is trapped by Burazi at the end of the episode, the marshal makes an attempt to grab the gun, but The Croat sharply knocks it out of his hands with a kick.
Rifles
Colt Model 727
A marshal for New Babylon named Gritz (David Chen) is armed with a Colt Model 727 carbine during the chase for Negan in "Old Acquaintances" (S1E01). The same rifle also can be seen on the back of the zombified Gritz in "Who's There?" (S1E02).

A marshal for New Babylon named Perlie Armstrong (Gaius Charles) is armed with a scoped M1 Carbine during the chase for Negan in "Old Acquaintances" (S1E01).
