The first season was created by Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan. The story is set in 2296, 219 years after the Great War of 2077 destroyed civilization in a storm of nuclear fire. While Lucy MacLean (Ella Purnell), having lived her whole life inside a huge underground bunker, emerges on the surface for the first time to search for her missing father, the once famous pre-War actor Cooper Howard (Walton Goggins), who became a "Ghoul" after being severely exposed to radiation, makes a living as a bounty hunter. Meanwhile, Maximus (Aaron Moten), a recruit of the large post-apocalyptic army known as the Brotherhood of Steel, is given a mission to retrieve an important piece of powerful pre-War technology, which may be an opportunity to earn the glory and respect his seeks. These three disparate survivors are unknowingly set on a collision course with each other, as a series of seemingly unrelated events turn out to be bigger than all of them, with the potential to set the wasteland ablaze with war once again. The season consists of eight episodes and was premiered on April 10, 2024 on Amazon Prime.

A live-action recreated replica of the "Colt 6520" (also known as the "10mm Pistol") from Fallout and Fallout 2 appears as the service weapon of the Squires of the Brotherhood of Steel during the season. After being promoted, Maximus (Aaron Moten) starts carrying the gun in "The Target" (S1E02) and later saves his Knight by firing at Yao guai. Being assigned as the new Squire of Knight Titus in "The Head" (S1E03), Thaddeus (Johnny Pemberton) begins carrying the revolver in a holster. In Episode 7, Thaddeus fires the gun 15 times without reloading, while the in-game version's capacity is only 12 rounds. On-screen, the gun is depicted as a revolver, with its cylinder visibly rotating before each shot.

During the Raiders' attack in "The End" (S1E01), Lucy (Ella Purnell) takes a fictional dart gun with tranquilizer rounds from Vault 33's armory after finding that the rest of the weapons are gone. Leaving the Vault, Lucy takes the gun with her. In "The Target" (S1E02) Lucy first points the gun at a farmer trying to learn the way, and later shoots The Ghoul during a shootout in Filly. Lucy fires the pistol encountering the gulper at the Hollywood Boulevard in "The Head" (S1E03). Other dart guns are also visible in emergency glass cases in Vault 4.

A pistol featuring such a design had not previously appeared in any of the past games, but was later added to Fallout Shelter with an update marking the show's release. Presumably, this weapon is some model of futuristic firearm, given the visible case ejection and muzzle flash in scenes where it is fired.

Ghoul's Revolver (MTs255)
Cooper Howard aka "The Ghoul" (Walton Goggins) carries a unique custom revolver as his primary weapon during the season. Visually, it resembles an OTs-62 (cut down MTs255 revolving shotgun) with a LeMat-style trigger guard. For some reason, unlike the MTs255, the gun is a top-break rather than a side-loading and has a 4-round cylinder. Also, grenade launcher shots are heard during firing, possibly hinting a special gun mechanism. He first uses the gun in Filly during a shootout in "The Target" (S1E02). He briefly holds the gun in "The Head" (S1E03), meeting Lucy at the lake and then shooting up Vault-Tec's billboard.

The following weapons were used in Season 1 of the television series Fallout:

SPOILERS.jpg WARNING! THIS PAGE CONTAINS SPOILERS!

Handguns

"10mm Pistol" (Fallout 1/2)

A live-action recreated replica of the "Colt 6520" (also known as the "10mm Pistol") from Fallout and Fallout 2 appears as the service weapon of the Squires of the Brotherhood of Steel during the season. After being promoted, Maximus (Aaron Moten) starts carrying the gun in "The Target" (S1E02) and later saves his Knight by firing at a yao guai.

In-game render of the pistol for Fallout 4, added post-release.
The holstered pistol is seen at the beginning of "The Target" (S1E02).
Maximus (Aaron Moten) shoots the Yao guai with his gun.
Thaddeus' gun is seen when he and Maximus find the dead body in "The Head" (S1E03).

"10mm Pistol" (Fallout 4)

The redesigned "10mm Pistol" from Fallout 4 appears, faithfully recreated as a physical prop. The pistol first appears in holsters of Enclave soldiers in "The Target" (S1E02). Brotherhood of Steel officers carry holstered pistols in the radio room in "The Head" (S1E03). It later appears in Episode 4 when Lucy (Ella Purnell) acquires one, who carries it as her sidearm before losing it in "The Past" (S1E05). In the season finale "The Beginning" (S1E08), numerous Brotherhood troops carry the pistol during the assault on Griffith Observatory.

"AEP9 Laser Pistol"

The fictional "AEP9" laser pistol from Fallout 4 is used by Lee Moldaver (Sarita Choudhury).

Colt 1851 Navy

Sheriff Troy (Russell Ewing) and Sheriff Rex (Christopher Parker) both carry a Colt 1851 Navy as sidearms in "The Trap" (S1E06). Cooper Howard (Walton Goggins) disarms both men of their revolvers before turning them both against them.

Colt Model 1903/1908

During a flashback in "The Beginning" (S1E08), some pre-War film posters featuring Cooper Howard (Walton Goggins) as their lead characters can be seen. One poster depicts him holding a pistol that resembles a Colt Model 1903/1908.

Dart Gun

During the Raiders' attack in "The End" (S1E01), Lucy (Ella Purnell) takes a fictional dart gun with tranquilizer rounds from Vault 33's armory after finding that the rest of the weapons are gone. Leaving the Vault, Lucy takes the gun with her. In "The Target" (S1E02) Lucy first points the gun at a farmer trying to learn the way, and later shoots The Ghoul during a shootout in Filly. Lucy fires the pistol encountering the gulper at the former Hollywood Boulevard (now a large lake) in "The Head" (S1E03). Other dart guns are also visible in emergency glass cases in Vault 4.

The only weapon left in the arsenal in "The End" (S1E01) turns out to be a dart pistol.
Lucy leaves the room with the pistol after her disrupted wedding.
Lucy (Ella Purnell) points the gun at a farmer in "The Target" (S1E02).
Later in Filly she encounters The Ghoul, forcing her to pull out her gun again.
The holstered pistol is seen in "The Head" (S1E03).
She aims the dart gun when the gulper attacks her.

Desert Eagle Mark XIX

Knights of the Brotherhood of Steel, wearing power armor, are armed with modified Desert Eagle Mark XIX fitted with an underbarrel bracket and an extended frame. Maximus (Aaron Moten) fires the pistol during the battle with The Ghoul in Filly in "The Target" (S1E02) and during the encounter with the gulper at Hollywood Boulevard in "The Head" (S1E03).

Unlike the MTs255, the gun is a top-break rather than a side-loading and has a four-round cylinder. It fires large-caliber finned cartridges, which are carried in his bandolier. Multiple styles of bullet are seen, indicating that that he carries multiple special ammunition types for his revolver. Also, grenade launcher shots are heard during firing, possibly hinting at a special firing mechanism. He first uses the gun in Filly during a shootout in "The Target" (S1E02). He briefly holds the gun in "The Head" (S1E03), meeting Lucy at the lake and then shooting up a Vault-Tec billboard.

Single Action Army

Cooper Howard (Walton Goggins), his daughter Janey (Teagan Meredith), and birthday boy Roy Spencer (Mason Cufari) carry toy Single Action Army revolvers in holsters at the beginning of "The End" (S1E01). Cooper also points the revolver at Jorge while filming his next movie in a flashback at the beginning of "The Head" (S1E03).

"Assault Rifle" (Fallout 4)

The fictional "Assault Rifle" from Fallout 4 is used by Brotherhood of Steel knights. It is a machine gun with a receiver that slightly resembles one from the MAS AA-52, the cooling jacket of a Lewis Gun (albeit with features from water-cooled jackets), and an oversized M249 handguard. In "The End" (S1E01), Maximus (Aaron Moten) carries his knight's supplies, among which is the "Assault Rifle". In the same episode, in Maximus' flashback, a knight is armed with the rifle in aftermath of Shady Sands' destruction. Knight Titus (Michael Rapaport) carries the rifle while searching for a fugitive from the Enclave in "The Target" (S1E02) until he is attacked by a yao guai. Squire Thaddeus (Johnny Pemberton) is also provided an Assault Rifle as part of his supplies and fires it at the gulper in "The Head" (S1E03).

Improvised Firearms

At least one raider (Aixa Kendrick) armed with a makeshift assault rifle holding Vault 33 dwellers hostage in "The End" (S1E01). Some Vault dwellers and raiders are also use another makeshift tranquilizer rifles. One of the Filly citizens uses another improvised firearm with a dual top-mounted magazine design that resembles a Burton 1917 LMR in "The Target" (S1E02). Another resident shoots Howard with a scoped automatic rifle during the same shootout. The Vault 33 guards also carry their tranquilizer rifles behind their backs in "The Head" (S1E03).

Cooper Howard (Walton Goggins) also uses a modern replica sawed-off Winchester Model 1873 as his primary weapon, carrying it in a holster behind his back. He uses it briefly during the shootout with the Filly residents in "The Target" (S1E02), but favors his revolver more. The gun is seen holstered in "The Head" (S1E03). In this configuration, the carbine might be a reference to the Marlin Model 1895 from Fallout 4's Far Harbor DLC.

"Minigun" (Fallout 4)

A live-action recreation of the "Minigun" from Fallout 4 makes an appearance as a stationary weapon on Brotherhood of Steel Vertibirds. It is a partly fictional design, taking inspiration from the M134 Minigun in handheld configurations and the M61 Vulcan, and features the same giant underbarrel ammo drum resembling a Phalanx CIWS. The machine gun is seen at the Brotherhood airbase in "The End" (S1E01) and later in "The Target" (S1E02).

Ma June's Shop

After arriving in Filly in "The Target" (S1E02), Lucy goes into Ma June's store to get information about Moldaver. At this point, various weapons can be seen behind the counter.

As Lucy searches for clues leading to Moldaver, a "Plasma Pistol" from 4, a "Mare's Leg", stockless "AER9" laser rifle, and two horrible makeshift rifles are seen in the background.
Another laser musket and the same scrap assault rifle hang on the wall of the store.
And above all you can see a "Junk Jet" selling for 285 caps.

Machine Gun Turret

An automated turret, stationed at an Enclave base, activates and fires when Dr. Siggi Wilzig (Michael Emerson) tries to escape at the beginning of "The Target" (S1E02). The turret looks almost identical to the in-game version, but the machine gun itself in the series has an M61 Vulcan-style barrel assembly, and not the dual over/under barrels as is in the game.

A turret slides out in front of Dr. Wilzig with the ironic caption "Please remain calm".

Mk 2 Hand Grenade

Cooper Howard (Walton Goggins) uses an Mk 2 hand grenade against Brotherhood of Steel forces in "The Beginning" (S1E08).
