The Charter Arms Undercover was a no frills, inexpensive revolver first sold in 1973. The Bulldog was relatively lightweight and compact, which made it popular as a backup revolver. The Undercover was the first firearm manufactured by Charter Arms. At just 16 ounces, the new gun was the smallest, lightest steel framed revolver in the world with the fewest moving parts. The Undercover gained notoriety after a .38 Special model was used by Mark David Chapman to murder John Lennon in 1980.
