The following lists the weapons seen in Season 4 of the series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit:
Handguns
Glock 19
The Glock 19 is the sidearm carried by the majority of NYPD detectives in the Special Victims Unit including Detective Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni), Detective Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay), Detective John Munch (Richard Belzer), and Detective Odafin "Fin" Tutuola (Ice-T). What appears to be a Glock 19 is also wielded by an apartment resident at the beginning of "Vulnerable" (S4E03).
SIG-Sauer P220
Keith Gerard (Joe Murphy) is seen with a SIG-Sauer P220 in "Risk" (S4E12).
Heckler & Koch P7M8
In Season 4's premiere "Chameleon" (S4E01), Maggie Peterson (Sharon Lawrence) uses a Heckler & Koch P7M8.
Smith & Wesson 5946
Ray Bevins (Joe Morton) uses a Smith & Wesson 5946 in "Grief" (S4E23).
Smith & Wesson Model 36
Capt. Donald Cragen (Dann Florek) is seen with a Smith & Wesson Model 36 as his sidearm in Season 4, notably drawing it in "Risk" (S4E12). This was the revolver he carried during the first three seasons of Law & Order. As Cragen had been serving on the force since the 1970s, it would not be uncommon for veteran NYPD Detectives, who were sworn officers prior to 1993, to carry a revolver. In "Grief" (S4E23), the revolver is used by a victim to commit suicide with, and is identified as a "Smith & Wesson Model 36" by CSU.
Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
The NYPD ESU Officers throughout the series use Heckler & Koch MP5A3s as one of their main weapons. They are fitted with various attachments, such as scopes or tactical flashlights.
Shotguns
Remington 870
A Remington 870 with top-folding stock is brandished by a U.S. Marshal in "Disappearing Acts" (S4E05)
