The following lists the weapons seen in Season 3 of the series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit:
Glock 19
The Glock 19 is the sidearm carried by the majority of NYPD detectives in the Special Victims Unit including Detective Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni), Detective Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay), Detective John Munch (Richard Belzer), and Detective Odafin "Fin" Tutuola (Ice-T). Captain Donald Cragen (Dann Florek) is sometimes seen carrying one in some episodes. Uniformed NYPD Officers are seen using Glock 19s as well. Like many television shows and films, many times when a Glock is seen being drawn, the sound effect of a hammer cocking is heard (despite the fact that Glocks are hammerless).
Colt M1911A1
A commercial M1911A1 is used by a suspect during a brief standoff with Det. Benson at the end of "Wrath" (S3E02).
Ruger KP94
In "Tangled" (S3E05), a Ruger KP94 is held by Lara Todd (Liza Weil). Stabler identifies the pistol as a "Ruger P94" in the episode.
Colt Python (snub)
In "Redemption" (S3E06), Det. John "Hawk" Hawkins (David Keith) carries a Colt Python snub nose revolver as his sidearm.
Smith & Wesson Model 36
A Smith & Wesson Model 36 is used in an alley shooting in "Sacrifice" (S3E07). It's identified early on a by a witness (a homeless ex-Marine) as a "Snub-nose revolver, probably a .38"
SIG-Sauer P232
In "Justice" (S3E19), a SIG-Sauer P232 is used by Tony Degalio (Michael Luggio) in a shooting. Identified as a .380 semiautomatic, Det. Benson picks it up with a pen as evidence out of an abandoned van.
