Luke Cage is the Netflix series adaptation of the Marvel superhero comic book of the same name. Set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the series follows Luke Cage (Mike Colter), a former convict previously introduced in Jessica Jones, who due to a sabotaged experiment, now possesses super strength and unbreakable skin. Released in September of 2016, Luke Cage is the third of four original series set in the MCU that highlights Marvel's "street-level" heroes, who united for the 2017 miniseries The Defenders. The series aired for 2 seasons until 2018.
On March 1st, 2022, all Marvel Originals shows including Luke Cage were removed from Netflix and subsequently moved to Disney+.
