Resident Evil Zero (2002)

Resident Evil: Zero is the 2002 videogame prequel to Resident Evil. Following the release of Resident Evil (2002 VG), Capcom decided to make their next installment in the series a prequel. Resident Evil Zero puts players in the role of Rebecca Chambers, STARS Bravo team's medic, and a fugitive US Marine named Billy Coen as the two are forced to work together to survive a hellish night in the Raccoon Forest, setting the stage for the events of the first game.

Zero features several gameplay tweaks over its predecessor, most notably the removal of item boxes, which up until then had been a series staple. The game also allows the player to control both Billy and Rebecca simultaneously, or toggle passive or aggressive AI for one character, as well as the ability to modify certain weapons (a mechanic not seen since Resident Evil 2). The game was also the last title to feature the more traditional fixed camera mode, and marked the last appearance of zombies until Resident Evil 6 almost a decade later. Originally a GameCube exclusive, Capcom later ported the game to the Wii; a current-gen HD port, similar to what was done for Resident Evil was released in January of 2016 on Steam, the Xbox One, and the Playstation 4.

The following weapons were used in the videogame Resident Evil Zero:

Beretta 92FS "Samurai Edge" Custom

Rebecca Chambers and the members of S.T.A.R.S. Bravo team carry customized Beretta 92FS pistols known as "Samurai Edges". During the course of the game, the player can find extra parts to customize this weapon with a scope. This upgrade dramatically improves the chances of landing critical shots on enemies. Unlike the remake of Resident Evil (2002), ammunition for the handgun is kept as boxes of bullets instead of magazines; this is due to there being two handguns in the game.

The Samurai Edge is used by all members of Bravo team, including Bravo Captain Enrico Marini. Interestingly, in the opening FMV, Rebecca's Samurai Edge sports an underbarrel rail, suggesting at least partial influence from the Beretta M9A1; this feature vanishes in-game and is not present on the weapon in Resident Evil, suggesting its inclusion is an oversight.

"Army Handgun"

This fictitious handgun is Billy Coen's primary sidearm. It holds fifteen rounds of 9mm ammunition and is described as being standard issue for the U.S. Army. The design is fictional, it's overall features are that of an M1911 but it has a Beretta 92-style cutaway slide. It is also compatible with the red dot sight.

Over and Under Shotgun

A Over and Under Shotgun can be found on the train. It is more powerful than the later Pump-Shotgun but obviously limited to two rounds.

"Pump-Shotgun"

A fictional pump-action shotgun with wood furniture and an extended barrel and magazine tube can be found inside the training facility. It can hold seven rounds of 12 gauge ammunition.

SMG

After beating the game, the player unlocks this submachine gun. This weapon is more or less a heavily altered Heckler & Koch MP5.

It also bares a striking resemblance to the recently released SIG-Sauer MPX. Not bad for a game that came out 12 years before the weapon was even conceived.

Grenade Launcher

The Grenade Launcher in game is a fictional design that resembles a cross between an Arwen 37, a DefTech 37mm launcher, and a Milkor MGL while having the folding stock of a SPAS-12.

"A large grenade launcher featuring a revolver-style chamber."

Sporting Int. Magnum Custom

The Sporting Int. Magnum Custom is a fictional magnum handgun chambered for the .50AE round and holds eight shots. It is powerful enough to kill virtually any enemy in one shot and is very effective against bosses. Its overall design resembles an M1911-type pistol.

"A large handgun capable of firing powerful magnum rounds."

Taurus Raging Bull

A Taurus Raging Bull with a 5 inch barrel and wood grips is unlocked after completing the Leech Hunter mission with 90-99 leech charms collected. It is also used in the closing cutscene to dispatch the Queen Leech. It apparently was just lying around.
