Mission: Impossible is the 1996 feature film adaptation of the popular 1960's spy series of the same name. Directed by Brian De Palma, the film stars Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt, an agent of the IMF (Impossible Mission Force), who discovers that a mole within the agency caused his team to be eliminated on a mission and put the CIA's NOC list out in the open. After being framed him for the crime, Ethan must uncover the mole's identity while attempting to keep the list from being sold to the highest bidder. The film co-starred Ving Rhames, Jon Voight and Emilio Estevez and would spawn a feature film franchise which includes Mission: Impossible II (2000), Mission: Impossible III (2006), Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011), and Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015).
The following weapons were used in the film Mission: Impossible (1996):
Beretta Cougar
IMF agent Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) pulls a Beretta 8045 Cougar F on fellow agent Claire Phelps (Emmanuelle Béart) at the beginning of the film. It's hidden in a vase at his team's apartment in Prague.
SIG-Sauer P228
Various IMF agents including IMF director Kittridge (Henry Czerny) and Claire Phelps (Emmanuelle Béart) are seen holding SIG-Sauer P228 handguns. Claire is seen putting her SIG on the table in Prague.
CZ 75B
An IMF agent is seen with a suppressed Czech CZ 75B pistol in the raid of Max's apartment.
CZ 82
A female IMF agent is seen holding a CZ 82 when she and another IMF team raid the meeting room of Max (Vanessa Redgrave). It is not a CZ 83 on the account of the trigger guard which differs greatly from the CZ. On his watch viewscreen, Ethan sees a suppressed CZ 82 being used.
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
A Security Protective Service police officer at the CIA Headquarters in Langley is seen carrying a Heckler & Koch MP5A3 fitted with a laser sight and Surefire dedicated forend weaponlight as he escorts the team disguised as firefighters to the room where the alarm went off.
Steyr TMP
Kittridge's right hand man Barnes (Dale Dye) is seen carrying a Steyr TMP as the IMF agents raid Max's room.
Phelps' Custom Firearm
IMF Team Leader Jim Phelps (Jon Voight) assembles and carries a customized Derringer-type firearm when he is on the bullet train. The weapon is assembled from various innocuous radio parts and is fitted with a custom suppressor. The prop was custom made for the film by an armory firm in the UK.
