The SIG-Sauer P229R is seen with NCIS Special Agents including Supervisory Special Agent Alden Parker (Gary Cole), Special Agent Timothy McGee (Sean Murray), and Special Agent Jessica Knight (Katrina Law). The P229R is also used by Special Agent in Charge Jane Tennant (Vanessa Lachey) of the Hawaii Field Office during her time in Washington, D.C. in "A Family Matter" (on NCIS: Hawai'i, Tennant carries a Glock 19). The P229R is also used by other law enforcement officers in the season, including US Navy Masters-at-Arms.
In reality, the P229R has been the standard issue pistol of the NCIS (along with the SIG-Sauer P239) since 2011, though the NCIS pistols are both chambered in .40 S&W and feature the SIG-Sauer DAK (Double Action Kellerman) trigger system.
