The Magnificent Seven is the 2016 feature film remake of the classic 1960 Western of the same name that was in turn based upon Akira Kurosawa's classic samurai film Seven Samurai. Denzel Washington stars in the remake as Sam Chisolm, a bounty hunter who at the end of the American Civil War, teams up with a band of misfit outlaws to save a mining town from a ruthless tycoon. The film's cast includes Chris Pratt, Vincent D'Onofrio, Byung-hun Lee, Peter Sarsgaard Haley Bennett, and Ethan Hawke. The remake was directed by Antoine Fuqua, marking his third of five collaborations with Washington as well as reuniting the actor with his Training Day co-star Hawke.
