Revision as of 08:20, 26 November 2013

please edit out the black bars in your screencaps

IMFDB requires editing of the images so that black bars are cropped out. Thank you. :) MoviePropMaster2008 08:54, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

NCIS Page

Why did you remove the SIG-Sauer P239 and SIG SG 552 from the page? --Crazycrankle 00:53, 12 March 2010 (UTC)

Actor Pages

Make sure when putting pictures in the actor page, make sure you put "right" when writing the code so that the picture is right-justified. I've corrected the Ilia Volok page for future reference. Other than that, you made the page right. --Ben41 23:03, 11 October 2010 (UTC)

No fictional firearms in actor pages

Please do NOT add fictional firearms to the actor pages such as in the Saul Rubinek page. Also, if you aren't sure if an actor used a firearm in a particular film, do NOT add the listing in the actor's page, but add a question to the discussion section. --Ben41 02:42, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

Jonah Hex screens

Thanks for your contributions, but make sure that you upload the ENTIRE frame of the screen and not cropped (to keep the shots at a uniform size). Also make sure that your player is set to 16:9 so your screengrabs are not squashed. A good computer DVD player that takes screenshots is VLC Player. --Ben41 01:34, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

Cropping

Cropping is tricky for me; the last time I tried to do it (for shots from "Monk"), they caused distortions.

I use a program called Fast Stone Image Viewer that allows me to crop JPG's with no problem. --Ben41 01:57, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

Where can I get it?--Crouchbk

You can google the name and you should be able to find a free download of it. --Ben41 01:06, 2 November 2010 (UTC)

Stock shots of guns

I know you're still working on The Mighty Quinn page, but you should at least place the stock shots of the guns used even if you don't have the screenshots ready. This will help prevent your page from being mistakenly marked for deletion. --Ben41 06:50, 25 November 2010 (UTC)

Pete Postlethwaite

Do you plan on actually doing the pages for the Sharpes movies? --Ben41 12:24, 19 February 2011 (UTC)

If I can get copies of the episodes, and two minutes to myself.

Voice actors

Sorry, but since the actor is not actually seen handing the weapon, we are not including voice acting roles in the actor pages. --Ben41 03:00, 8 March 2011 (MSK)

Please try to avoid spoilers

Some of the descriptions such as the ones you changed on the NCIS page were purposely left vague to avoid spoilers. Please remember this when writing captions. --Ben41 22:21, 27 November 2011 (CST)

Sorry.--Crouchbk 22:22, 27 November 2011 (CST)

Striptease movie screenshots

Some good work on the page for Striptease, but it appears that the media player you're using to capture screenshots is not set to the correct aspect ratio, which is why they all looked squashed. Your media player should be set to "16:9" or "Auto" for widescreen movies before capturing. You can correct these shots in Fast Stone Image Viewer by using the "Resize/Resample" feature located underneath the "Edit" function in the upper banner. If you resize your image to 720 x 410, then they'll look correct. I am going to redo the first two pictures for your reference. --Ben41 23:23, 27 November 2011 (CST)

Monk weapons

I've left some more guns to dentify on the talk page for Monk. Please check and verify for me, please. DReifGalaxyM32 22:25, 5 December 2011 (CST)

Dead Again

What DVD program are you using to capture your DVD screenshots? Unfortunately, your screenshots for Dead Again are squashed similar to those you uploaded for Striptease. Please look at the above post I wrote earlier about the screenshots for Striptease on how to correct this. Please correct and reupload your screenshots please. --Ben41 02:32, 16 January 2012 (CST)

X-Files

If you're going to season split the X-Files, please upload covers for each season. Please also move each page to "X-Files - Season N". Thanks. --Funkychinaman (talk) 14:41, 12 November 2012 (EST)

I will get to the covers in due time. As to the photos remaining on the main page, the previous contributers failed to identify the episodes they were taken from, so I don't know where to move them.
Argh. I hate it when that happens. And I meant to write "X-Files, The - Season N" --Funkychinaman (talk) 16:56, 12 November 2012 (EST)

I've undone your split of the X-Files. Trading one incomplete page for nine complete pages is one thing, but trading one incomplete page for eight incomplete pages is unacceptable. I've saved your work on the talk pages if you want to continue the effort. Talk:The X-Files - Season 1, Talk:The X-Files - Season 2, Talk:The X-Files - Season 3, Talk:The X-Files - Season 4, Talk:The X-Files - Season 5, Talk:The X-Files - Season 6, Talk:The X-Files - Season 7, Talk:The X-Files - Season 8. --Funkychinaman (talk) 00:27, 16 January 2013 (EST)

Aspect ratio

Please resize your screencaps for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter to the proper aspect ratio and reupload. If the dimensions are x by y, then x/2.4 = y. I've fixed two of them for you already. Thanks. --Funkychinaman (talk) 03:52, 17 March 2013 (EDT)

To be honest, I'm still unsure how to do that.--Crouchbk (talk) 13:56, 17 March 2013 (EDT)
Do you have an existing image editing program? If not, you can download Fast Stone Image Viewer for free. Select your image (I chose this one), go to Edit, then Resize/Resample. Uncheck the box for "Preserve Aspect Ratio" on the bottom. Edit the number of pixels, leaving the image Width as it is (714px for the file I used,) and then calculate 714/2.4, which gives you 297.5. Enter the rounded value under Height. Click Okay, save, and reupload. It should only take you a few minutes. --Funkychinaman (talk) 14:54, 17 March 2013 (EDT)

Actor Links

If you are going to add links for an actor, please make the corresponding page for that actor. --Ben41 (talk) 15:09, 21 November 2013 (EST)
