Like the series, the film is set during the height of the Cold War in the early 1960's and chronicles the meeting and subsequent teaming up of American CIA agent Napoleon Solo (Henry Cavill) and Russian KGB Agent Illya Kuryakin (Armie Hammer) in order to stop a mysterious international criminal organization, whose goal is to destabilize the fragile balance of power through the proliferation of nuclear weapons and technology.

The following weapons were used in the film The Man from U.N.C.L.E.:

Handguns

U.N.C.L.E. Custom Pistol

Illya Kuryakin (Armie Hammer) is seen handling, what appears to be, a version of the U.N.C.L.E. Custom Pistol complete with, stock, scope and suppressor/barrel extension. The custom pistol was originally built around the Walther P38. Although this one may have been built around a Mauser.

Victoria Vinciguerra (Elizabeth Debicki) is seen firing a Walther PPK in the second trailer.

Makarov PM

East German police (Volkspolizei) officers are seen with the Makarov PM as their primary firearm. Illya Kuryakin (Armie Hammer) is seen disarming a police officer to obtain one when chasing Napoleon Solo (Henry Cavill) and Victoria Vinciguerra (Elizabeth Debicki). Kuryakin is also seen handling a suppressed Makarov in the second trailer.
