Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is the sci-fi action series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that centers around a team of agents in a covert spy agency known as the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, Logistics Division, AKA "S.H.I.E.L.D." The team is led by Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), the SHIELD agent previously featured in the MCU films Iron Man, Iron Man 2, and Thor and two Marvel One-Shots and was presumed killed during the events of The Avengers (2012). Throughout the series, this team investigates occurrences that could pose a danger to the safety of the entire planet. Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was created by Avengers director Joss Whedon and premiered in the US on ABC in 2013 and aired for 7 seasons until 2020.
