Painkiller Jane (2007)

Painkiller Jane is a 2007 science fiction action television series that ran for one season on the Sci-Fi Channel (now SyFy). Based on the comic book character of the same name, the series stars Kristanna Loken as the self-healing titular character DEA Agent Jane Vasco. The series' story was completely different from the 2005 film of the same name that starred Emmanuelle Vaugier as the title character. In both versions, the title character can heal from all mortal wounds and (apparently) cannot be killed except through complete destruction of the body (burned completely to ashes or explosion or acid) or dismemberment or decapitation.

The series was mostly filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, but then abruptly moved to Budapest, Hungary for the last third of the season. To the show's credit, when the production moved to Hungary, the storyline also moved to the same country, so they did not try to make an Eastern European country look like the United States.

The following guns were used in the series Painkiller Jane:

Pistols

Beretta 9000S

DEA Agent Jane Vasco ((Kristanna Loken) wields a Beretta 9000S pistol in "Pilot" (E01).

SIG-Sauer P226

In "Pilot" (E01), a "Neuro" makes police officers shoot at Jane Vasco. They all fire in a police station when, in the melee, the fire alarm goes off. They all use SIG-Sauer P226s.

Walther P99

Walther P99s are the standard service pistol for all guards and staff at the NICO facility in Budapest, used most prominently during the inmate insurrection in the season finale "Endgame" (E22).

Röhm RG 96

The Röhm RG 96, a blank-firing replica of the Heckler & Koch USP, is used by the Neuro hunting team, exclusively as their sidearm, during their time at the NICO facility.

This image clearly shows the distinguishing visual characteristics of the Röhm blank-firing pistol: The Röhm has a semi-skeletonized hammer, unlike a USP, and it also lacks the exposed notch on the end of the take-down lever on the right side of the frame. The extractor also does not touch the cocking serrations, unlike a USP. Additionally, the weapon clearly lacks H&K markings on the frame beneath the slide and exposed end of the barrel at the ejection port.

Submachine Guns

Heckler & Koch MP5K

In "Pilot" (E01), a ten-year-old Jane Vasco (Tiera Skovbye) wields a Heckler & Koch MP5K.

Shotguns

Ithaca 37

In "Toy Soldiers" (E02), Connor King (Noah Danby) carries a stainless steel Ithaca 37 with a short barrel and an MP5K foregrip in place of the factory foregrip.

Rifles

Heckler & Koch SL8-4

In "Toy Soldiers" (E02), Andre McBride (Rob Stewart) uses a Heckler & Koch SL8 outfitted with a suppressor. The barrel has been threaded to accept a suppressor. This is an SL8-4, the Canadian or European version of the SL8 with short scope rail, double stack magazine well, with a flush fit 10 round magazine, Harris bipod, and scope. The rifle is wrongly depicted as capable of firing darts.

Machine Guns

RPD
