Murder on the Orient Express is the 1974 feature film adaptation of the Agatha Christie novel of the same name. Albert Finney stars in the film as the legendary French detective Hercule Poirot, who must solve a murder that has occurred on an express train that is caught in the middle of the snowstorm. The film was directed by Sidney Lumet and the cast included Sean Connery, Richard Widmark, Lauren Bacall, Martin Balsam and Ingrid Bergman, who received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film. The novel would later be adapted again as a 2017 feature film that was directed by and starring Kenneth Branagh as Poirot.
