Kris Kristofferson

Kristoffer Kristofferson (June 22, 1936 – September 28, 2024) was an American country music singer, songwriter, and actor. He was a pioneer in the Outlaw Country movement in the early seventies, working with such legendary singers like Johnny Cash, Janis Joplin, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. A Rhodes Scholar he was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army in the early sixties (helicopter pilot and Ranger qualified). He left the Army in 1965 to pursue his career in music. He was 88 years old at the time of his death.
