Kong: Skull Island is a 2017 monster action-adventure film directed by Jordan Voght-Roberts and is the second installment in the Godzilla-Kong cinematic universe after 2014's Godzilla. The film follows a surveying team escorted by the United States Army sent to explore Skull Island only to encounter the titular creature, Kong. Set in 1971, all the weaponry and equipment appears to be from the Vietnam War era. The cast includes Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, and John C. Reilly.
The following weapons were used in the film Kong: Skull Island:
Handguns
Colt 1902 Military Pistol
Packard (Samuel L. Jackson) carries what appears to be two Colt M1902 military pistols in a dual shoulder holster rig. He is seen pulling one on Bill Randa (John Goodman). The use of this pistol is an odd choice, since it was never adopted by the US military, and would be at least 43 years old by 1971, the time period for this film (although some M1911A1s, produced as early as 1924, and other designs such as the M1917 Revolver still in use were slightly older.) It is noteworthy, however, that officers often still carried their own 'unofficial' sidearms, even in the 70s.
Assault Rifles
M16A1
Soldiers and scientists are all seen with the M16A1.
M14 Rifle
Packard (Samuel L. Jackson) is seen carrying a M14 rifle.
AK-47
The Captain (Shea Whigham) is seen carrying a AK-47-type rifle. He explains to Bill Randa (John Goodman) that he took it off a 50 year old farmer who fought for the NVA who had surrendered after his village was destroyed.
Machine Guns
M60
The M60 machine gun is seen mounted as door guns on the Bell UH-1 Iroquois (nicknamed "Huey" due to its original designation, HU-1) helicopters. A soldier is also seen carrying an M60.
Browning M2HB
A soldier is seen loading and firing a Browning M2HB atop an enormous Triceratops skull.
GE M134 Minigun
A GE M134 Minigun is seen on a Huey helicopter.
Shotguns
Ithaca 37
What appears to be an Ithaca 37 is used by a scientist (Corey Hawkins).
Launchers
M203 Grenade Launcher
An M203 grenade launcher is fitted to a soldier's M16A1.
M79 Grenade Launcher
The Captain (Shea Whigham) also carries an M79 grenade launcher.
Other
M2 Flamethrower
Soldiers can be seen carrying and firing the M2 Flamethrower.
M26 Hand Grenade
In the face of one of Skull Island's giant "Skull Crawlers", the Captain (Shea Whigham) is seen holding two M26 hand grenades.
M18 Smoke Grenade
The M18 Smoke Grenade can be seen on the Huey helicopters.
M83 Smoke Grenade
The M83 Smoke Grenade can also be seen on the Hueys.
