Ip Man (2008)

Ip Man is a 2008 Hong Kong martial arts film starring Donnie Yen as the title character, the martial artist who eventually becomes the master of Bruce Lee. The film revolves around Ip Man's time in Foshan during the Japanese occupation of China. Ip Man is only an indirect biography and takes a lot of creative licenses in portraying the events around his time there. Donnie Yen would reprise the role of Ip Man in the film's sequels Ip Man 2 and Ip Man 3 in 2010 and 2015 respectively, until the final film in the series, Ip Man 4, in 2019.

The following weapons were used in the film Ip Man:

Warnant Revolver

Li Zhao's (Gordon Lam Ka-tung) weapon during his time as a police officer appears to be a Warnant Revolver. If one goes by the scene of Ip Man (Donnie Yen) knocking the cylinder out of the weapon frame by frame, one can see that it is connected to a wire, which was used to quickly pull it out of the revolver.

Warnant Revolver
Li Zhao (Gordon Lam Ka-tung) proudly boasts that firearms are superior to martial arts, his Warnant in hand.
Ip Man grabs the revolver.
Li Zhao holds his revolver.
Here you can clearly see the wire...
... and there the cylinder goes, a technical impossibility.

Nambu Type 14

The sidearm of the Japanese Colonel Sato (Shibuya Tenma) is a Nambu Type 14 pistol. It is used twice throughout the film. First to shoot a fighter after an arena match, the second time during the climax. The gun in the film is an early model with a fully-rounded trigger guard. In several scenes, a rubber prop was used in place of the real Nambu Type 14.

Li Zhao (Gordon Lam Ka-tung) struggles with Sato (Shibuya Tenma) over the Nambu Type 14.
