The 5th Wave is a 2016 American science-fiction action film directed by J Blakeson, based on the 2013 novel of the same name by Rick Yancey.
Earth is attacked by a race of aliens known only as "the Others". Rather than making their physical presence known, the Others have instead devastated humanity through four waves of disasters. Ordinary teenager Cassie Sullivan (Chloë Grace Moretz) finds herself trying to survive the apocalyptic devastation, but learns that the fifth, and final, wave is yet to come.
