The first season is created by Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan. The story follows the lives of three survivors more than 200 years after a horrific nuclear disaster. While Lucy MacLean (Ella Purnell), having lived her whole life inside a huge underground bunker, is about to come to the surface for the first time, the once pre-War famous actor Cooper Howard (Walton Goggins), who became a Ghoul after being severely exposed to radiation, makes a living as a bounty hunter. The third main character is Maximus (Aaron Moten), a recruit of the large post-apocalyptic army known as the Brotherhood of Steel. The season consists of eight episodes and was premiered on April 10, 2024.
The following weapons were used in Season 1 of the television series Fallout:
WARNING! THIS PAGE CONTAINS SPOILERS!
Handguns
"10mm Pistol" (Fallout 1/2)
A live-action recreated replica of the "Colt 6520" (also known as the "10mm Pistol") from Fallout and Fallout 2 appears as the service weapon of the Squires of the Brotherhood of Steel during the season. After being promoted, Maximus (Aaron Moten) starts carrying the gun in "The Target" (S1E02) and later saves his Knight by firing at Yao guai. In Episode 7, Thaddeus (Johnny Pemberton) fires the gun 15 times without reloading, while the in-game version's capacity is only 12 rounds. On-screen, the gun is depicted as a revolver, with its cylinder visibly rotating before each shot.
"10mm Pistol" (Fallout 4)
The redesigned "10mm Pistol" from Fallout 4 appears, faithfully recreated as a physical prop. While it is mostly a fictional design, some features of it resemble those from the Walther Volkspistole prototype. The pistol first appears in holsters of Enclave soldiers in "The Target" (S1E02), while it later appears in Episode 4 when Lucy (Ella Purnell) acquires one.
"AEP9 Laser Pistol"
The fictional "AEP9" laser pistol from Fallout 4 is used by Lee Moldaver.
Colt Model 1903/1908
During a flashback in "The Beginning" (S1E08), some pre-War film posters featuring Cooper Howard (Walton Goggins) as their lead characters can be seen. One poster depicts him holding a pistol that resembles a Colt Model 1903/1908.
Dart Gun
During the Raiders' attack in "The End" (S1E01), Lucy (Ella Purnell) takes a fictional dart gun with tranquilizer rounds from Vault 33's armory after finding that the rest of the weapons are gone. Leaving the Vault, Lucy takes the gun with her. In "The Target" (S1E02) Lucy first points the gun at a farmer trying to learn the way, and later shoots The Ghoul during a shootout in Filly. Other dart guns are also visible in emergency glass cases in Vault 4.
Desert Eagle Mark XIX
Knights of the Brotherhood of Steel, wearing power armor, are armed with modified Desert Eagle Mark XIX fitted with an underbarrel bracket and an extended frame. Maximus (Aaron Moten) fires the pistol during the battle with The Ghoul in Filly in "The Target" (S1E02) and later encounters the gulper at the Hollywood Boulevard in "The Head" (S1E03). A pistol featuring such a design had not previously appeared in any of the past games, but was later added to Fallout Shelter with an update marking the show's release. Presumably, this weapon is some model of futuristic firearm, given the visible case ejection and muzzle flash in scenes where it is fired.
Fictional Top-Break Revolver
The Ghoul/Cooper Howard (Walton Goggins) carries a unique custom revolver as his sidearm. Visually, it bears a strong resemblance to a cut down MTs255 revolving shotgun, with a LeMat-style trigger guard. However, unlike the MTs255, this revolver features a top-break design, with a 4-round cylinder. In some scenes, the Ghoul fires more than 4 rounds from this weapon without reloading. During the shootout at the market, "bullet cam" shots reveal that the revolver fires finned bullets. The Ghoul's bandolier also contains several large-caliber cartridges with varying projectile types, which are most likely for this revolver.
Single Action Army (Toy)
Cooper Howard (Walton Goggins), his daughter Janey (Teagan Meredith), and birthday boy Roy Spencer (Mason Cufari) carry toy Single Action Army revolvers in holsters at the beginning of "The End" (S1E01).
Submachine Guns
PPSh-41
One of Filly citizens in "The Target" (S1E2) uses a PPSh-41 with a bakelite box magazine. The PPSh-41 is used during the Brotherhood's raid on the Griffith Observatory in "The Beginning" (S1E8).
Sterling Mk. IV
Vault 33's armory consists of several Sterling Mk. IV submachine guns. At the beginning of "The End" (S1E01), Lucy MacLean (Ella Purnell) and Chet (Dave Register) fire Sterlings at a shooting range. During the invasion, most of the Raiders, as well as Stephanie "Steph" Harper (Annabel O'Hagan), are armed with these Sterlings.
Rifles/Carbines
"AER9 Laser Rifle"
The fictional "AER9" laser rifle is carried by several Enclave guards at the beginning of "The Target" (S1E02).
"Assault Rifle" (Fallout 4)
The fictional "Assault Rifle" from Fallout 4 is used by Brotherhood of Steel knights. It is a machine gun with a receiver that slightly resembles one from the MAS AA-52, the cooling jacket of a Lewis Gun (albeit with features from water-cooled jackets), and an oversized M249 handguard. In "The End" (S1E01) a squire of the Brotherhood of Steel Maximus (Aaron Moten) carries his knight's supplies among which is the "Assault Rifle". In the same episode, in Maximus' flashback, the knight is armed with the rifle at the scene of the Shady Sands explosion. Knight Titus (Michael Rapaport) carries the rifle while searching for a fugitive from the Enclave in "The Target" (S1E02) until he is attacked by a yao guai.
Improvised Firearms
At least one raider (Aixa Kendrick) armed with a makeshift assault rifle holding Vault 33 dwellers hostage in "The End" (S1E01). Some Vault dwellers and raiders are also use another makeshift tranquilizer rifles. One of the Filly citizens uses another improvised firearm with a dual top-mounted magazine design that resembles a Burton 1917 LMR in "The Target" (S1E02).
Lever Action Carbine
The Ghoul/Cooper Howard (Walton Goggins) carries a lever-action carbine, whose buttstock has been sawn off. Its furniture, enlarged lever loop, and barrel/magazine tube configuration were likely added to imitate the sawed-off Marlin Model 1895 from Fallout 4's Far Harbor DLC. A repeater in a very similar configuration, but with a grey receiver is visible in the background of a shop.
Ruger Mini-14 GB
The Ruger Mini-14 GB with a 20-round magazine is Ma June's weapon of choice.
"Syringer"
One of Filly's residents holds a "Syringer," a homemade dart rifle from 4, in "The Target" (S1E02).
Unknown Rifles
The guard at Don Pedro's fortress is armed with an unknown rifle at the end of "The End" (S1E01). One of Filly citizens uses an unknown bolt-action rifle with a bayonet in "The Target" (S1E02).
Shotguns
Browning Auto-5
One of the survivors from Filly is armed with a Browning Auto-5 in "The Target" (S1E02) before The Ghoul kills him.
Double Barreled Shotgun
Bounty hunter Slim (Jacob A. Ware) is armed with a Double Barreled Shotgun going to free Ghoul (Walton Goggins) from the grave at the end of "The End" (S1E01). However, he does not want to share the reward and kills his releasees, taking possession of Slim's shotgun.
Machine Guns
M1918 Browning Automatic Rifle
The M1918 Browning Automatic Rifle is used by a guard in Episode 8. In a slightly earlier scene, another guard can be seen holding a BAR fitted with an M1918A2 handguard.
"Minigun" (Fallout 4)
A live-action recreation of the "Minigun" from Fallout 4 makes an appearance as a stationary weapon on Brotherhood of Steel Vertibirds. It is a partly fictional design, taking inspiration from the M134 Minigun in handheld configurations and the M61 Vulcan, and features the same giant underbarrel ammo drum resembling a Phalanx CIWS. The machine gun is seen at the Brotherhood airbase in "The End" (S1E01) and later in "The Target" (S1E02).
RPD
The RPD is used by a soldier in "The Beginning" (S1E08).
Vertibird Machine Guns
Dual front-mounted machine guns with Browning M1919A4-style barrel shrouds are mounted on the Brotherhood of Steel Vertibirds first seen in "The End" (S1E01) and later in "The Target" (S1E02).
Other
Improvised Bomb
Leaving the Vault 33 in "The End" (S1E01), the Raiders plant a bomb to block the entrance.
"Junk Jet"
The fictional "Junk Jet" improvized gun from Fallout 4, using various junk items as ammunition, appears in hands of bounty hunter Biggie (Joel Marsh Garland) who kills the guard at the end of "The End" (S1E01) by shooting a baby doll's foot.
Ma June's Shop
Machine Gun Turret
An automated turret, stationed at an Enclave base, activates and fires when Dr. Siggi Wilzig (Michael Emerson) tries to escape at the beginning of "The Target" (S1E02). The turret looks almost identical to the in-game version, but the machine gun itself in the series has an M61 Vulcan-style barrel assembly, and not the dual over/under barrels as is in the game.
