The Colony

The purpose of a film summary is not recap the entire plot of the film. Please keep your summaries short. --Ben41 (talk) 15:02, 8 February 2014 (EST)

Okay, it's best if you are making a page to save it once even if you're not done with it to prevent the loss of your work. Also, explosives such as dynamite or such do not warrant an entry. --Ben41 (talk) 16:20, 8 February 2014 (EST)

The faster way is to copy and paste weapons information from finished pages and then rewrite the info to fit your new entries. If you cannot ID a weapon, place the screenshot of the weapon in the discussion page and ask for help there. Also, when replying to someone's post, please post your comments in that user's talk page. --Ben41 (talk) 20:25, 8 February 2014 (EST)

Please do not crop your images except for blank space. For more information, please refer to the IMFDB Style Guide. --Funkychinaman (talk) 03:12, 9 February 2014 (EST)

If you want to emphasize something, you can circle or number it. It's covered in the style guide. --Funkychinaman (talk) 03:26, 9 February 2014 (EST)
You can also write your coding in a text file offline and then cut and paste the code into your page. --Ben41 (talk) 03:21, 9 February 2014 (EST)
Before you do anything else, please reupload your screenshots with the ENTIRE frame. Cropping off the screenshots like you did makes for a very messy page. I'm not sure what your source for your screenshots are, but they appear to be of inferior quality. Please try to use HD or a DVD for your source of images. The revolver appears to be a Smith & Wesson Model 19 and the "Mossberg" appears to actually be a Winchester Model 1300. If you need help capturing screenshots, please refer to the IMFDB Screencapping Guide. --Ben41 (talk) 03:28, 9 February 2014 (EST)
The reason why they're squished is because the page hasn't refreshed the image. To force a refresh, change the image size from "600px" to "601px". Also, I would suggest saving your images from VLC as a PNG file and then convert to JPG afterwards. They should look better. --Ben41 (talk) 03:55, 9 February 2014 (EST)
Well, you've started in the right direction. You can refer to other movie pages such as Escape Plan or Machete Kills to see what already has been established. -Ben41 (talk) 04:08, 9 February 2014 (EST)

Categorize your images, please

When you upload images, please put the [[Category: Screenshot]] (or simply {{SS}} code). I did it with two first images, so you can see how it was done. Greg-Z (talk) 02:11, 9 February 2014 (EST)

Writing Summary

The summary was removed for The Colony because it's incomplete and is too long. The entire plot does not need to be rehashed there. Please limit the summary to just basic information about the film and to only a few sentences. Also, please put parenthesis around an actor's name that you have hyperlinked. The summary will remain in the discussion section until a more concise version is written.

Also, you have not done a significant revision to the page in a few days. In the future, it is better to not put a page up at all than to put up such an incomplete page and leave it undone for so long. Please make an effort on the page in the next few days or the page will be subject for deletion. I would suggest that you look at the IMFDB Style Guide and the IMFDB Screencapping Guide for reference on adding information. --Ben41 (talk) 02:55, 13 February 2014 (EST)

I took down the page, sorry for trying to help.
Look, you don't have to quit trying, it's just that it's your first page and there are a few kinks to work out. We can't do everything for you because we haven't actually seen the film. The Style and Screencapping Guide were written specifically for new users such as yourself. --Funkychinaman (talk) 10:35, 13 February 2014 (EST)
If you want to work on it on the discussion page, we can accommodate you on that. --Funkychinaman (talk) 10:36, 13 February 2014 (EST)
If you want to upload a cropped closeup in addition to a full frame screenshot, then that's fine. If there any stragglers, it's a standard we've only started enforcing recently. --Funkychinaman (talk) 08:22, 14 February 2014 (EST)
