UPDATE 10/04/2010 - After seeing personal pictures on several other user pages, I figured what the hey and put some of myself up. One will be of simply myself from a few months ago (with my awesome custom RoboCop-OCP T-Shirt), and another from around a year back of me with one of the few guns I have been exposed to, a SIG-Sauer P220. Personal pics are in the 'How do?' section, with a picture of the SIG in the 'Guns I've Handled' section'. A couple are crappy old cell-phone pics so forgive the small size and lack of detail.

How do?

You can just call me Stan.

About Me - General

I'm a 23 year old that lives near Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A.

I don't have any MySpace page or anything like that, I don't have patience or time enough for that kind of thing. I do have a YouTube channel (though no videos of my own to post, like this site and others, I mainly just look and browse). I do post quite a bit on the MessageBoard of the RoboCop Archive, where I've been around for several years now.

About Me - Movies

I like a great number of movies and and enjoy a fairly wide variety of films, though Action, Sci-Fi, and War will probably be the biggest categories of films I watch. I'm an immense fan of the RoboCop franchise (As evidenced by the fact I post on it's biggest site), of which the original film RoboCop has been my all-time most favorite film for a long time now. As a big fan, I also like most of the other media as well, that is the film sequels (or at least, the second film, the third, not quite so much), as well the old TV series, comics, etc.

Other than that, again, I enjoy, like, and even love a fair number of films, not just single films, but also entire film franchises (sometimes some of films in a particular franchise, others maybe all of them). Basically I like enough stuff to where I couldn't narrow it down to top 10 list. I'm not into TV shows much, there are a handful I like a lot and have watched pretty intently.

But, there has to be some kind of list, so, here's a couple of them. These are ones that are my my most favorites -

Favorite Film franchises (Trilogies, etc)

  • RoboCop (duh)
  • Terminator (The original T1 I like most)
  • Star Wars (Empire and ROTJ the most)
  • Indiana Jones (Raiders best for me, but I like 'em all)
  • Predator & Predator II
  • Alien Quadrilogy (Not so much into Alien: Res though)
  • Dirty Harry series
  • Ghostbusters I & II
  • Escape From New York and L.A.
  • Batman films (Though NOT Batman & Robin, yeesh)
  • The Matrix (Mainly the original)
  • Back to the Future
  • Beverly Hills Cop (Mainly the first two)
  • Die Hard (Mainly the first three)
  • Rambo (Mainly First Blood)

Favorite Individual films

  • Patton
  • Full Metal Jacket
  • Black Hawk Down
  • Saving Private Ryan
  • We Were Soldiers
  • Total Recall
  • Sin City
  • WarGames
  • Enemy At The Gates
  • Men At Work
  • V for Vendetta
  • Spaceballs
  • Blade Runner
  • Tears of the Sun
  • The Siege
  • Dawn Of The Dead (2004) (A remake that isn't actually bad - shocking!)
  • Walking Tall (1973 Original)
  • Heartbreak Ridge
  • Patriot Games
  • Toy Soldiers

Favorite TV series/miniseries

  • Band Of Brothers
  • The Pacific
  • Criminal Minds
  • Law & Order
  • NCIS
  • House M.D.
  • NYPD Blue
  • The original RoboCop series (Mostly)

.. And that's just to name that ones that come to mind right away. But my likes are not limited to this list - There are more films and shows I like and enjoy.

About Me - Guns and This Site

I've always been into guns. Not just by themselves, but also as a big part of my fascination for the U.S. Military, and their related vehicles and equipment (and as such, a lot of their weapons, both vehicle-mounted and small-arms). As we know, we see a lot of weapons (including military weapons) on movies and TV shows, so this site acts as a great resource for that. Weapons used by the U.S. Armed Forces are represented on screen quite a bit, and this site has a fair bit of info posted about them, not to mention tons of nice, high-quality pictures. Not to mention as a guy who watches some Sci-Fi stuff, it's nice to read up on background on some of the prop weapons. It even makes me more knowledgeable about regular action films themselves, as in a lot of those films the guns are fairly big (and for me, interesting) parts of the movies.

As such, I found my way here, and have come here on a somewhat regular basis since. I've found this site to be very informative and educational, not just on the weapons, but their history and background, and even found some good trivia and insights on some films regarding their weapons. I've come to this site quite a good bit already (give or take a year now). I mainly looked and browsed anonymously. The main reason I joined up was to post up a page for a movie I like and watched recently (but surprisingly, didn't see here on the site), so there ya go. Otherwise I've edited/added some things here and there, and have contributed what little I can. Overall, as a gun lover, I've found this site to be highly informative and enjoyable.

I unfortunately, do not own any actual firearms of my own (I have a couple of pellet guns, but those don't count :P). My financial state has not yet afforded me to do so. I certainly intend to own some eventually though, and hopefully before damn dirty apes rule the planet. :)

What I've Done

My Own pages

  • Nothing But Trouble - My first page. I set up the entire page and posted the original low-quality screencaps. The screencaps have since been replaced by much better ones by Predator20.

Other pages I've edited

These will only list pages I've edited substantially and/or have edited/modified over a long period of time.

Those are just listings again for any considerable editing, I've done a lot more, mainly formatting and re-sizing edits, and other minor things. I've also entered into several discussions in Talk pages as well. If full disclosure is what you're looking for, look no further than the link button 'User Contributions'. ;)

Guns I've Handled/Fired

Self-explanatory, most of these I have actually fired, while others I've just been exposed to and handled. I will add pics for those that are listed on the site, or otherwise simply state them.

Handguns

Ruger KP90 - .45 ACP
The Actual SIG-Sauer P220 I handled/fired - .45 ACP
Iver Johnson 'Safety Automatic' - .32 S&W
Kimber Custom TLEII .45 ACP

Also fired a Mauser M2 pistol in .40 S&W and (very briefly) handled a Miroku .38 Special Police Japanese revolver (Exported in the US under the better known EIG/'Liberty Chief' names).

Long-Guns

Remington 7400 - .308
Chinese Type 56 Carbine aka the Chinese SKS rifle - 7.62x39mm.
Mossberg 590 with ghost ring sights and speedfeed stock - 12 Gauge.
Short-barreled Mossberg 590 with M4-style collapsible stock - 12 Gauge

I only shot one 590 but both pictures are posted to both indicate features of the one gun I shot. The 590 I shot had the same CAR-15/M4-style collapsible stock as the lower pic, but was a full-tubed 590 like the first picture. (more detail on my 'Guns I'd Like To Own' section below).

Guns I'd like to own

These are my real-life 'wish list' weapons - Guns I really want and intend to have. Some of these I may not get for a while but just about all of these I most definitely want to have and will try to get.

Handguns

We'll start with a nice little family of Smith Revolvers.

Smith & Wesson Model 620 L-Frame 'Classic-Style' 4" Barrel - .357 Magnum
Smith & Wesson Model 65 K-Frame 3" Barrel - .357 Magnum

Smith & Wesson Model 500 X-Frame 8 3/8" Barrel - .500 S&W Magnum

Smith & Wesson Model 627 N-Frame 4" Barrel .357 Magnum
Smith & Wesson Model 629 N-Frame 6 1/2" Barrel, Half-Lug - .44 Magnum

The classics are best for me when it comes to Smiths, mainly appearance-wise - I don't like the look of full-lug revolvers as much - Smiths have long had the half-lug style and that is just an unbeatable look. My probably first and main choice would be the 620 - classic look with the L-frame size and 7-shot capacity. Pretty much perfect for me. Nothing against it's predecessor, the 686P, but again, I like the classic look, and though with the K-frame 66 'Combat Magnum' gone (Being replaced by the 620), well there ya go. I would not mind a 66 however. The 65 is definitely optional, what with it no longer being made also, however i would prefer to get in 3-inch as shown.

Anyway, at least one for every main size - 357, 44, and the new 500. Though as you can see there are several Smith .357s I like and want. And yeah, all stainless guns. All more-or-less exactly as they're shown in the images.

K-frame .357 has always been just an all-around good-size gun (to me anyway). However I think the L-frame might fit my hands better and there is the extra round as well. Plus the L-frames are a bit more hard-wearing for .357s. Both compliment each other, and ideally I would like both. as for the .44 Magnum, my dad owned a Model 29 himself and I've long wanted to have one of my own. His was a 4-inch, he recommended that if I do get one to go for the 'Dirty Harry' 6 1/2 length, especially if I fire any decently hot rounds. And the 500, well, need I say more? Although that one I might not get for a while, if indeed at all. Smith has a new 500 with a 6 1/2 barrel W/ half-lug, and despite my own liking of the 'classic' half-lug Smith look, I just don't know about that for a handgun like the 500.

The larger 8-shot .357 N-frame Model 627 is also very nice, but again a bit more on the optional side. Of course, the 640 would be a smaller gun for concealed-carry.

Now some semiautos -

As noted above, I've shot a TLEII, (Matter of fact, the first real gun I shot) and I have to say, it felt quite nice. Not to mention being monetarily challenged, the Kimber is good since it provides a great 1911 pistol for the price. If I ever were to get a semiauto, it would probably be one of these.

I've added the Pro-Carry on the possibility I might go for a slightly smaller 1911, and it's a good size to me. Doesn't have to be stainless like the picture but I wouldn't mind it, either.

SIG-Sauer P229(P229R) Current Production .40 S&W
SIG-Sauer P220(P220R) Current Production .45 ACP

I've always liked SIG-Sauer pistols, and after having shot a 220, I have to say they shoot pretty nice as well. The P220 would be a good alternative/compliment to the Kimber, and the 229 would be another slightly more compact weapon to have. My 229 would ideally be in .40 caliber.

Finally in this section, a very special weapon -

Beretta Auto-9 from RoboCop (Beretta 93R Modified)

As a RoboCop fan, this is one I certainly will have. Mine will of course be a air/gas gun (The KSC appears to be the best of it right now), but I will get one. Believe it.

Shotguns

Mossberg 590 with ghost-ring sights and speedfeed stock - 12 Gauge.

Mossberg 590. For the first shotgun I fired, I know it felt damn nice (I shot 2 3/4 slugs). I might even go for the ghost-ring sights like the one on this image. The one I shot belonged to my 'Uncle' Roger (Actually my Dad's old best friend, who himself is a big gun-nut), which he called 'Grand-dad'. His had ghost-ring sights and he customized it with a pistol grip and M4/CAR-15 style collapsible stock (Similiar to Shane's Mossberg 590 in The Walking Dead (TV Series)). He said he was using that temporarily until he bought a folding stock with 3-shell holder. I myself would be plenty content with a standard stock at this point.

Benelli M3 Super-90 12 Gauge with pistol grip stock combination

I love semi-auto shotguns. I especially love semi-autos that can still be worked as pumps if need be. As such I've long loved the SPAS-12. But, as I've learned, it's not all that desirable. Bah. But long behold, Benelli comes out with this beauty. This one is still produced, cheaper, more reliable and proportioned closer to a regular shotgun than the larger and bulkier SPAS. I'd like a pistol grip stock on it most, but a standard stock would work fine, too.

Rifles

Commercial CAR-15 semiautomatic Rifle - 5.56x45mm. This is strictly a semiautomatic civilian copy of the XM177 style of rifles.

..Or something of the sort. There's several variants of the AR-15 carbine made by other companies that have caught my eye as well, from Rock River Arms and others. Though I'm personally more into 7.62 weapons, I'd certainly like to own at least one 5.56 weapon, and so here ya are.

M1 Garand Caliber .30 AKA .30-06

I've always liked the Garand, and felt it would be a nice piece to own. One of the three things that helped us win the war, as they say. It's a good semiautomatic rifle that is stout and fairly simple, not to mention can be had relatively inexpensively.

FN FAL 50.00 - 7.62x51mm

I've always liked the FAL and to this day, it is still a great weapon. Of course, I wouldn't have to have an actual Belgian made FAL, there's also other variants made that I like fine. DSA has some nice versions that one of which I wouldn't mind having. Though I wouldn't want anything super-fancy, like the full free-float barrel and all. Something as close to the original regular FAL 50-00 would be fine. What can I say, I'm a humble guy.

Heckler & Koch 91 (Semiautomatic-only version fo the G3 rifle) 7.62x51mm

A good alternative to a FAL-style rifle.

Barrett Model 95 Bolt-Action Bullpup 5-Round Magazine 12.7x99mm/.50BMG
Barrett Model 99 'Big-Bore' Single-Shot 12.7x99mm/.50BMG

Would love to own a .50 cal rifle of some sort. Etiher one of these would be great, though realistically I'd probably get the single-shot 99 rather than the 95. A Serbu BFG-50 Single-Shot wouldn't be a bad choice, either.

Winchester Model 70 Super-Grade
Browning A-Bolt rifle
Remington 700SPS
Ruger M77

And last but not least, some kind of classic-looking bolt-action rifle. There are several brands/models I'd had my eye own, the vast majority of which aren't posted on this site. A few of which I have posted above. The Sauer 202 I really like, though that's an pretty expensive choice. There was a pretty good looking CZ rifle as well, and several others. In any case, such a gun would be ideally be in .30-06. Though the .338 Lapua Magnum I've had my eye on as well.

In Closing

I'll probably continue to come here on a somewhat regular basis and keep up with things. If I see some things here and there that I can contribute to, I'll do so, but for the most part, I'll enjoy just being here to browse. I'll say thanks to those that have welcomed me and hope that I can be another good albeit small part of this fantastic site. I'll see ya around.
