'''The Tank Brigade''' (original: ''Tanková brigáda'') is Czechoslovak war film directed by Ivo Toman. This is the first color feature film of the ''Czechoslovak Army Film''. It was screened with a delay after several years of filming (since 1951), on the occasion of the ten-year anniversary of the liberation of Czechoslovakia. The film used real weapons and military equipment, which the filmmakers had available along with expert consultants from ''Mosfilm'' and with a support of the ''Ministry of National Defense''. The movie depicts the fate of a tank brigade in the time the toughest of battles of Czechoslovak troops on the Eastern Front, especially the commander mjr. Stašek ([[Otomar Krejca]]), who must face the intrigues of his chief of staff cpt. Renč ([[Martin Ruzek]]) allocated to him by of the command from London. At the same time tells the story of the tank commander sgt. Juraj Klimko ([[Július Pántik]]) and his love for the beautiful nurse Olga (Jana Dítetová). Into the story also were incorporated the fundamental political events of that time and the gradual transformation czechoslovak units to of the military instrument of Communist power. At the end of the film is described by a real event when a member of resistance Miloš Sýkora ([[Jirí Vala]]) saved the bridge over the river at the cost of their lives.
