The Intervention (Interventsiya) is a 1969 Soviet adventure tragicomedy movie directed by Gennadi Poloka. The story takes place during the Russian Civil war in the city of Odessa which is under the control of White Army and French troops. The main character of the movie is a Red revolutionary Eugeni Brodsky (Vladimir Vysotskiy) who agitates French soldiers to support the Russian revolution. The story is partially based on real events of the rebellion of French sailors in Russia in 1919.
The following weapons were used in the film The Intervention (Interventsiya):
Revolvers
Nagant M1895
Nagant M1895 revolvers are used by various characters including White Army officers, Red revolutionaries and criminals. Both pre-1930 and post-1930 versions can be seen.
Pocket Smith & Wesson Revolver
In the scene of the robbery of Xidias' bank several robbers carry compact Smith & Wesson revolvers. These revolvers can be Smith & Wesson 4th Model but they are never seen clear enough to be identified for sure.
Reichsrevolver M1879 Revolver
In the scene of the robbery of Xidias' bank Nestor (Aleksandr Massarski), the bank guard, carries two nickel plated Reichsrevolver M1879 revolvers.
Rifles
Mosin Nagant M1891
White Army soldiers are armed with full-lenght Mosin Nagant M1891 rifles.
Mosin Nagant M1938 Carbine
French soldiers are seen with out of place and out of time Mosin Nagant M1938 Carbines, possibly used as replacemnt for Berthier Mle 1916 carbines.
Lebel Mle 1886
Many French soldiers are armed with Lebel 1886 rifles.
Berthier Mle 1907-15
French soldiers are also armed with Berthier Mle 1907-15 rifles.
Berthier Mle 1902
Several Berthier Mle 1902 rifles are seen in hands of French soldiers. This model has the typical Berthier stock but a turned-down bolt handle.
M1917 Enfield
In one scene several alabaster statues hold Enfield rifles. It's hard to say if these rifles are British Pattern M1914 or American M1917 but the shape of stock better matches the USA version.
Machine Guns
Lewis
A Lewis Gun is briefly seen in French trenches.
