The BCM ARs

If Xtreme Props provided the weapons for this movie (as they evidently did), I would expect that the ARs in this movie are not factory BCM guns, but more likely the 8" Taran Tactical Innovations BCM TR-1 SBR carbines that Xtreme Props previously provided for The Fate of the Furious and Line of Duty. Of course, for this movie, they've clearly been re-configured with HERA Arms CQR furniture, plus the V Seven HELIOS compensators, ACOGs, etc. I'm not on IG, but it looks like they posted pics of the guns on their feed - anyone who's an IG user wanna grab those pics and post them here? -MT2008 (talk) 23:38, 9 July 2021 (EDT)

I was planning to upload a BCM picture; I'll do it in a bit. These are definitely not TTI builds though: this image shows BCM markings on the magwell (and not the TTI ones), and there's no mention of Taran Tactical among the tags featured in the relevant IG post. --Ultimate94ninja (talk) 06:48, 10 July 2021 (EDT)

Got it, thanks; good observation, and I stand corrected. Side note: the Hera Arms CQR grips appear to be mounted on the rails using BCM polymer Picatinny rail sections. Anyone who has ever bought that rail section, or a BCM rifle/URG that comes with it, knows that BCM includes a warning telling customers that they should never use it to mount vertical grips or any other load-bearing accessories; only flashlights (and some other grips/handstops that aren't vertical). You can even see this warning on their web site's product description. The Hera Arms CQR grip isn't exactly a vert grip, but it is still a load-bearing grip, so I'm surprised that this movie's armorers used the polymer rail sections instead of aluminum. -MT2008 (talk) 21:26, 15 July 2021 (EDT)

Geissele AR

It looks to me like a Mk 18 Mod 1, just with a Geissele rail instead of an RIS II. But what should we call that configuration? "Mk 18 URG-I"? I don't believe "Mk 18 Mod 2" would be appropriate since I can't find any picture evidence of Mk 18s with Geissele SMRs in army use. Spartan198 (talk) 01:00, 15 July 2021 (EDT)

None of the screenshots really show them very well, but my assumption was that these are the 10.3" version of the Geissele URGI (and it looked like it might have been on a BCM lower, same as those "MK III" rifles that are used in the future). I think that's as good a description as any ("Geissele URGI"), as long as we're sure that the guns are not another maker's (e.g. Daniel Defense) upper that have been retrofitted with the Geissele rails. -MT2008 (talk) 20:05, 15 July 2021 (EDT)

The Geissele rifle is indeed a BCM rifle, according to the official IG page of Xtreme Props, these are "10.3" BCM machine guns fitted with Geissele URG-I MK16 Rail, a Trijicon MRO on a Geissele super precision mount, a BCM stock, a Streamlight Protac weaponlight, a Magpul PMAG, a MS3 strap sling, an Insight AN/PEQ-15, and a Rugged Micro 30 7.62 suppressor". -I'mallaboutguns.1 (talk) 14:59, 17 July 2021 (EDT)

I can't see the entry on Insta - can you post pics or anything else? Are we sure it's not a 10.3" Geissele URGI that has been mated to a BCM lower? I suppose it's also worth pointing out that BCM actually sold uppers with the MK16 rail for a brief period of time a few years back. -MT2008 (talk) 12:21, 19 July 2021 (EDT)
