Secret Invasion is an original streaming superhero series, based on the Marvel Comics series of the same name. The series focuses on former S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), who while working in space on a secret project, returns to Earth when he is informed of an impending invasion and infiltration of an alien race known as the Skrulls, a race of metamorphic aliens first seen in the MCU feature film Captain Marvel, who intend to take over the planet by gaining control over all aspects of human life. The series' cast includes Cobie Smulders as former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill as well as Game of Thrones' alum Emilia Clarke, Martin Freeman as former CIA Agent Everett Ross and Ben Mendelsohn, reprising his role as the Skrull Talos.
Secret Invasion is the first television series of Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The series is being produced by Marvel Studios and will run for 6 episodes on the streaming service Disney+, beginning on June 21, 2023.
