Mafia II (2010)

Mafia II is an open-world action-adventure video game, the sequel of Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven. It was developed by 2K Czech and published by 2K Games in 2010 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The following firearms make an appearance in the video game Mafia II:

Colt M1911A1

The Colt M1911A1 is the standard pistol throughout the game. This weapon is seen being used by Vito, Joe and Henry in the game. The M1911A1 is Vito's favorite gun.
In Chapter 10 Joe and Vito use a special custom version with a 23 round magazine. Joe tells Vito not to lose it because there are only two in the world, yet it can be bought at Giuseppe's. This version also appears to be nickel-plated.

Colt Detective Special

The Colt Detective Special is modeled after the 3rd gen model and appears as the ".38 Revolver". Main sidearm of the Empire City Police Department.

Mauser C96

The Mauser C96 can be seen being used by an Italian soldier in the training mission. Can be bought at Harry's gun shop. There weapon is show to be incorrectly reloaded by inserting a vertical box magazine into the weapons magazine from the underside of the magazine housing.

Smith & Wesson Model 27

The Smith & Wesson Model 27 appears as the "Magnum" and takes .357 rounds. Oddly it's modeled with a full-length lug under the barrel.

Thompson M1A1

The preferred submachine gun of the police officers in the game is the Thompson M1A1. It is commonly seen with a 30-round box magazine. The fact that the Empire Police use this weapon during the 1940s section of the game is highly unlikely as this weapon was being issued to US troops fighting overseas.

Thompson M1928

The Thompson M1928 is the main submachine gun of the gangsters. The Thompson M1928 is usually seen with a 50-round drum magazine. The gameplay video shows it being almost uncontrollable, this is probably because the game has no lock-on system. When Henry is shot in the leg, Joe uses a Thompson M1928 to kill the man with Vito.

Beretta Model 38A

The Beretta Model 38A is used by Italian soldiers in the training mission, and can be later bought at Harry's gun shop later in the game. Called ".38 SMG" in the game. It is also the only SMG to be to fired from the shoulder.

MP40

The MP40 is often used by enemy gangsters, and is more common than the Grease Gun. It has a surprisingly slow rate of fire and can be bought at Harry's.

M3 Grease Gun

The M3 Grease Gun is sometimes used by enemy gangsters but mostly by, fittingly, the Greaser gang. Can also be bought at Harry's gun shop.

M1 Garand

Used by Vito during the training mission. Although the M1 Garand is an army rifle, it can be bought at civilian gun shops. The M1 Garand is also show to be carried by Prison Guards during the 1940s, this is also unlikely as it was being used overseas by US troops.

MG42

An MG42 machine gun is used by Vito in Mission 4 "The Buzzsaw", where he uses it to ambush a convoy of gangsters. Can also be used in the training mission.

Remington 870 Field Gun

A Remington 870 Field Gun is seen on the table in the gun shop screen. Used by Vito, gangsters, cops, and random shop owners. An anachronism, the 870 wasn't produced until 1950 which makes it incorrect to have for the first five missions. The raised rib was also a feature that wouldn't be added until later. Also, the shotgun in-game carries 8 rounds whereas it is modeled to look like it holds 4. For some reason even if Vito fires once and reloads one shell, he always pumps the gun, but still retains the same amount of ammo. An advertisement on the in-game radio specifically calls the weapon a Remington 870.
