Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is the eleventh installment in the Ghost Recon franchise and is a narrative sequel to Ghost Recon Wildlands. It is set in 2023, 4 years after Operation Kingslayer, on the mysterious island of Auroa.

Many weapons in the game have several additional variants.
-Assault - Greater recoil and firepower.
-Assault Special - Greater recoil and firepower. The same as the assault option, but visually different.
-Tactical - Integrated sound suppressor, high accuracy. Trigger restrictions (1 shot, 3 shot).
-Shorty / CQC - CQC variant. Smaller range and recoil.

"Sharp Thunder"
Cole D. Walker (Jon Bernthal) uses a long-barreled revolver as his primary sidearm throughout the game. It's noted to be a fictional design in the official Ghost Recon Breakpoint cosplay guide released by Ubisoft. He is first seen using it to kill Weaver.

NDAD SURG 8 ("M4A1 Tactical")
The Nous Defions Arsenal Democracy (NDAD) Suppressor Upper Receiver Group (SURG) 8″ 5.56mm NATO. This is a modification of the AR-15 platform with an integrated sound suppressor. The weapon design was presented in 2017. The rifle in the game shoots a series of 3 shots and single shots. It is more accurate and powerful than the basic M4A1.

The SIG-Sauer 516 appears in the game as the "516". In the cinematic trailer, Fury tosses a SIG-Sauer 516 CQB with a tan pistol grip and buttstock to Nomad. In the closed beta, only the 516 Patrol variant with a 16" barrel is available. The SIG 516 Patrol seems to be the Ghosts' standard issue carbine, since it's seen in the hands of numerous members of the unit including Nomad (flashbacks), Weaver, and Josiah Hill.

The Assault class has access to a gas grenade somewhat resembling the Russian RGR-Rulet-VV tear gas grenade, although the gas it emits is significantly more lethal than tear gas.
