First, thanks for your contributions.  I've noticed that you've uploaded a lot of screencaps that you have had some problems identifying the guns.  If you have a question regarding the identification of a gun in a picture, it might be better to upload the pic into the discussion page and ask there before putting the pic into the main movie page.    You may also want to do a search in the "gun" categories to compare the gun in your screencaps before posting it.    A lot of guns seem to be easily identifiable.  I hope this helps you out.  --Ben41 04:44, 5 February 2010 (UTC)

*You're welcome. And, okay, I do confess I felt a little odd posting screencaps of guns and basically going "I don't know what these are." I'll take your advice and aside from that only contribute to movies with already-identified guns but no screencaps. --Kooshmeister

::No, being honest and saying that the weapon is an unknown weapon (at least to you) is the preferred action to take.  To declare a gun something which it is obviously NOT looks much worse.  Mis-identifying weapons, though it happens, is embarrassing for IMFDB since people come HERE to check what the gun is.  To say that a gun is "TBD" aka to be determined, just implies that you were too busy to finish the page.  Which is better than making a bold and WRONG statement.  :)  75.36.146.208 07:49, 25 August 2010 (UTC)

Page format

I appreciate the work you've contributed, but just an FYI: You've been using the wrong format on King Kong Lives and Abominable. Don't put the links to the gun pages in the heading; it shouldn't say, "Winchester Model 1300" and have a link in the heading, and then you say, "Used by (insert name)". It is best to a "A Winchester Model 1300 is used by (insert name)", and leaving the heading without a link. -MT2008 18:32, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

Gotcha. - Kooshmeister
Awesome, thanks! -MT2008 19:19, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
There we go, both movies fixed. I'll check to see if I've made the mistake with others and fix them as I happen on them. - Kooshmeister

Making actor's pages

First, thanks for your contributions. Just one minor correction when making the actor pages, can you put the film title BEFORE the notes and dates? I'll change the Ronald Lacey page so you can see. --Ben41 03:02, 31 March 2010 (UTC)

Creepshow 2

Winchester Model 12 is my best guess for the shotgun. When it comes to identifying revolvers, certain companies have a specific barrel profile. The most common you see in films are S&W, then Colt, then Taurus and Charter Arms. The one in Creepshow 2 has a Colt Detective Gen 1 barrel profile, Charter Arms also have a similar profile check them out too. --Predator20 14:20, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

note the barrel profile

Phantoms

The one on the far left I can't tell. Then it looks like an Ithaca 37, Winchester Model 12, and an other Ithaca 37.--Predator20 02:18, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

Are you going to add those assault rifles that the soldiers used to the page? And I think I remember M16s in the movie, too. -MT2008 03:24, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
At some point, yes. - Kooshmeister

The Monster Squad

Thanks for doing that film. One of my favorites growing up. I can't tell from the caps, do the revolvers have an exposed ejector rod? If they do they're problably S&W Model 10s. If they're covered probably Model 19s my guess.--Predator20 23:03, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

 • It's a little difficult to tell. The second pic of the rookie cop looks like it has an exposed one but the first pic of him looks like it's covered. Possible a blooper resulted in both being used in different scenes? - Kooshmeister
Continuity errors is not uncommon. I haven't seen the film in years, so I can't give better identification. Go either way with it, probably be fine. --Predator20 00:50, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

Blue Steel

Thanks for doing Blue Steel. Just one minor adjustment when making your movie pages: Please put "The following weapons were used in the film (Film Title):, instead of "Guns used in the film". This is to keep the page in line with the other movies. If they're other weapons such as grenades and the like, it's probably better to put "Weapons" instead of "guns". Thanks! --Ben41 19:10, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
