Revision as of 01:17, 22 March 2012
Söldner: Secret Wars is a multiplayer FPS game developed by Wings Simulations and released originally in 2004. The original release was flawed by many bugs, and updating was severely hindered by financial shortcomings of distributors JoWood, who would later drop the developers. In 2011, Söldner was made freeware.
Detailed stats about each weapon can be seen at [1]
The free download of the "Community Edition" can be obtained at [2]
The game still introduced several new elements into multiplayer FPS games, like the "Commander" mode, fully customizable player models and weapon configurations and a giant single map of several 1000 kms width and height. Besides that, the game is still renowned for its giant arsenal of weapons and vehicles in the game.
The weapon system of the game is divided into 5 slots:
- Slot 1 holds the knife as a meelee weapon.
- Slot 2 holds a pistol.
- Slot 3 holds any weapon categorized as a "rifle". This also includes several SMGs and grenade launchers.
- Slot 4 holds grenades and explosives.
- Slot 5 holds rocket launchers.
Any weapon has to be bought at the base of the player's team.
The following weapons appear in the video game Söldner: Secret Wars:
Pistols
Calico M950
The Calico M950 again appears in the pistol layout, but converted to full-auto. Costs $950 ingame, but is moved to the "Rifle" slot.
Colt M1911A1
The Colt M1911A1 costs $350 ingame.
Desert Eagle Mark XIX
The Desert Eagle Mark XIX is simply called Desert Eagle ingame and costs $700. Must be the .44 Magnum version, since the magazine capacity is 8.
FN Five-seveN
Original model of the FN Five-seveN, recognizable by the absence of the acessory rail. Costs $550 ingame.
Freedom Arms Model 83
The Freedom Arms Model 83 is the only revolver in Söldner. Costs $1150, is fitted with a scope and even more powerful than the Desert Eagle.
Glock 18
A 3rd-generation Glock 18, allows selectable full auto and featuring an extended 31-shot magazine. Costs $1400 ingame.
Heckler & Koch Mark 23 Phase II Prototype
The Heckler & Koch Mark 23 is again featured in the popular Phase II Prototype design. Is available with ($500) and without ($450) silencer.
Heckler & Koch P2000
The Heckler & Koch P2000 in Söldner could be topic to some debate, since it doesn't show the hammer of the .40 S&W variant, but holds unrealistic 16 shots in the magazine. Costs $400 ingame.
QSZ-92
The Norinco QSZ-92 is one of the cheapest available handguns, priced $350.
SIG-Sauer P250 Compact
Although called SIG-Sauer P250, this is the "Compact" version. Chambered in 9x19mm, as the magazine capacity of 15 induces. Costs $400.
Sphinx 3000
The Sphinx 3000 costs $400.
Submachine Guns
AKS-74U
The AKS-74U appears in an odd two-tone silver and black finish and the folding stock is completely missing. Costs $1300.
FN P90
The FN P90 costs $3400 and hence is the most expensive SMG ingame.
Heckler & Koch MP5A3
This is obviously the Heckler & Koch MP5A3, as the receiver looks like this variant and the selector shows positions for single and auto fire. The ingame weapon however also allows a burst mode, so this could be another point to discuss. Costs $1400 and is simply named HK MP5 ingame.
Heckler & Koch MP5SD3
Just as with the the A3 variant of the "normal" MP5, this is the Heckler & Koch MP5SD3, since the selector only shows two selectable modes (in addition to the "safe" position) and the gun has a retractable stock. Costs $1500 and is simply named HK MP5 Silenced.
Heckler & Koch MP7A1
Just a plain Heckler & Koch MP7A1, however the shown magazine doesn't comply with its capacity of 40. Named HK MP7 ingame and is priced $2600.
Heckler & Koch UMP9
Judging from the magazine shape, this is in fact the Heckler & Koch UMP9, though such a magazine would actually hold 30 instead of 25 rounds, as the ingame weapon does. Named HK UMP.45 and costs $1600.
IMI Micro Tavor MTAR-21
The IMI Micro Tavor MTAR-21 is simply named Tavor MTAR 21 inside the game. A dotsight is included for the price of $3500.
Intratec TEC-9
This is a Intratec TEC-9, though the game calls it KG-9. Despite the shown short magazine, it still holds 32 rounds. Costs $700 and is the cheapest SMG.
Izhmash PP-19 Bizon
The Izhmash PP-19 Bizon costs $2300 and could also be somewhat doubtful. The stock is clearly the one of early models, while everything else, especially magazine and muzzle, looks more modern. It should be noted that the depicted PP-19 holds 53 rounds in the magazine, indicating that 9x19mm Parabellum may be used.
Ruger MP9
A somewhat accurate depiction of the Ruger MP9 appears in Söldner, including the extended stock and the 32-round magazine. Costs $1000.
Steyr TMP
The Steyr TMP comes with 30-round magazines and a suppressor, just as known from Counter-Strike. The price of this is $750, a little more than for the TEC-9.
Shotguns
Armsel Protecta
With the Armsel Protecta, the developers again omitted the manufacturer's name and called it simply Protecta. Priced $1700.
Benelli M4 Super90
The Benelli M4 Super 90 holds incorrect 8 shots and costs $1500.
Franchi SPAS-12
The ingame Franchi SPAS-12 (again the game name omits the manufacturer) has its stock removed, but works fine otherwise. Also a cheap one, costing only $850.
Franchi SPAS-15
Just as with the SPAS-12 (and many other guns in Söldner), the Franchi SPAS-15 shotgun is called only by its model designation. This one costs $1600.
Pancor Jackhammer
The Pancor Jackhammer's ingame designation is simply the latter word of its name, and it costs $2100.
NeoStead 2000
For some reason, the NeoStead 2000's ingame designation lacks the numbers. Costs only $950.
Remington 870
The Remington 870 is the only "classic" shotgun in Söldner. The silver finish of thes $800 gun hints that it is the Marine Magnum version.
USAS-12
The USAS-12 Shotgun model shows the drum magazine, but mentions a capacity of only 10. Some kind of flaw for this $2000 shotgun.
Assault / Battle Rifles
A-91
The A-91 is a combination of assault rifle and grenade launcher, the latter is referred to as M20 ingame. Costs $3200 ingame.
AK-47
Of course a game like Söldner would be nothing without a AK-47, which indeed is very cheap with a price of $1400. A large magazine version (called "Big Mag" with 100 shots) is also available, but costs $3600.
AK-74M
Called AK-74, but is in fact the modern AK-74M version. Costs $1800.
Bofors Ak 5C
The Bofors Ak 5C costs $3600 and features a scoped gunsight, though the actual model doesn't show something like this.
Colt M16A1/A2
Söldner includes both the A1 ($2400) and the A2 ($1500) of the Colt M16. Both guns share the same model and differ just in the availabilty of full-auto on the A1.
Colt M4 and variants
There are no less than five versions of the Colt M4 available in Söldner: The stock M4 ($2500), the M4A1 version including scope, silencer and (unusable) tactical flashlight ($4000), a one called AimPoint ($3500), a SOPMOD version including scope, foregrip and silencer ($4000) and one plus the M203 grenade launcher called M4 / M203 ($3300). The best thing about this: They all look like actual M4 carbines, however the M4A1 version appears in odd silver finish.
FAMAS G2
The FAMAS G2 costs $2600.
FN F2000
The FN F2000 appears along with a grenade launcher, which is (just as with the A-91) called M20. Priced $4200.
FN SCAR-L
Oddly, just the L version of the FN SCAR made it into Söldner. Obviously a first generation model, comes with a scope and foregrip, which grosses up to a price of $3800.
Heckler & Koch HK53
The Heckler & Koch HK53 is shown with a curved M16-like 30-shot magazine and retracted stock. Costs $1700.
Heckler & Koch G11 K2
The Heckler & Koch G11 K2 holds 45 bullets and costs $4500. Of course, the game version also retains the scope of the original rifle.
Heckler & Koch G3A3
This is the slimline handguard version of the Heckler & Koch G3A3, priced $2100 and called HK G3 A3. Holds correct 20 rounds and is also available with a scope (named HK G3 A3 ZF) for the price of $3600.
HK G36
HK G36 C
HK OICW
HK XM8
IMI Galil AR
Things get messed up with the IMI Galil AR (wooden handguard), which has its magazine capacity lowered to uncommon 25. However this is one of the more cost-efficient assault rifles, priced $2300.
L85 A2
OC-14 Groza
QBZ-95
SIG 551
SIG 552
Steyr AUG
Tavor TAR 21

Heckler & Koch HK21E
The Heckler & Koch HK21E is depicted with bipod and a 80-shot ammo box. Costs $4800.
HK LMG36
M249 SAW
M60 E3
PKM
Rheinmetall MG 3
Sniper Rifles
Accuracy International Arctic Warfare Magnum
The Accuracy International Arctic Warfare Magnum is simply called AWM ingame. Costs $5800.
Cheyenne Tactical M-200 Intervention
The Cheyenne Tactical M-200 Intervention appears under its usual abbreviated name CheyTac LRRS M200. Costs $7000.
HK PSG1
M82 A1 Light Fifty
M93 Black Arrow
Mechem NTW 20
PGM Hecate II
SAIGA 308
The SAIGA 308, called Saiga .308 ingame, is the very special case of a sniper rifle without a scope. This might also explain its price of only $1100.
SIG SSG 3000
Steyr .50 HS
SV-98
SVD Dragunow
VSS Vintorez
Walther WA2000
Launchers
CR90-CR (M3)
The CR90-CR (M3) is available in the versions "Anti Bunker" ($3000), "Anti Personnel" ($4000) and "Anti Tank" ($5000). Each version comes with three missiles in total.
FHJ-84
The multi-barreled FHJ-84 exists in the versions "Anti Personnel" ($4500), "Anti Tank" ($3700) and "Smoke" ($500).
FGM-148 Javelin
The FGM-148 Javelin appears in Söldner under the simple name Javelin. Note that the player can only carry two missiles for the launcher, which is quite costly for $7100.
LAW 80
The accurately shown (and named) LAW 80 is such a massive weapon that the player can carry only one shot with this launcher. However, it only costs $1250.
M136 AT4
The M136 AT4 includes a scope and three missiles for the price of $3800.
M202 FLASH
The famous M202 FLASH appears ingame under the name M202A2 MRL, but the four barrels of the launcher are always shown extracted. Incredibly, the player carries a complete reload for all four barrels with himself. Costs $5500.
Milkor MGL
The Milkor MGL is a grenade launcher and therefore placed in the "Rifle" slot. Called MGL-MK1 ingame and costs $4000.
Panzerfaust 3
The Panzerfaust 3 is one of the cheaper rocket launchers. Available in standard AT ($2700), "Bunkerfaust" ($3000) and Panzerfaust 3-T ($3800) version. All of these carry three missiles in total.
PF-89
By far the cheapest rocket launcher. The PF-89 costs only $1150, but carries no reloads.
RG-6
The RG-6 is another grenade launcher and thus also placed in the "Rifle" slot. Costs $4000.
RPG-18
The RPG-18 carries two reloads plus one loaded missile (three in total) and costs $2200.
RPG-29
The RPG-29 is a more advanced unguided AT missile launcher, also with three missiles in total. Costs $4300.
FIM-92A Stinger
The FIM-92A Stinger is the only MANPADS in Söldner. Also carries three missiles and costs $3500. For some reason, the weapon is called Stinger Weapon System ingame.

M18 Smoke
Available with blue, green, red and yellow smoke.
