School of Courage (Shkola muzhestva) is a Soviet 1954 historical adventure movie directed by Vladimir Basov and Mstislav Korchagin and based on the novel "Shkola" ("School") by Arkadi Gajdar. The story depicts the fate of young man Boris Gorikov during the Russian revolution 1917 and civil war.
The following weapons were used in the film School of Courage (Shkola muzhestva):
Revolvers
Nagant M1895
Nagant M1895 revolvers are widely seen throughout the series, notably used by Semyon Ivanovich Galka (Vladimir Yemelyanov), the former teacher turned Red Army commander. All Nagants in the movie are of anachronistic post-1930 version.
Pistols
FN Model 1910
Boris Gorikov's (Leonid Kharitonov) personal weapon is the FN Model 1910 pistol that his father sent from the front during the Great War. In the original novel the pistol was described as "a small pocket Mauser".
FN Model 1900
In one scene Boris Gorikov's (Leonid Kharitonov) FN Model 1910 switches to FN Model 1900 due to a continuity error and then back to Model 1910.
Mauser C96
Mauser C96 pistols are used by Red sailors and soldiers, including Vasily Shmakov (Mikhail Pugovkin) and Fyodor Syrtsov (Vadim Zakharchenko).
Shotguns
Double Barreled Shotgun
Double Barreled Shotguns are briefly seen in several scenes.
Rifles
Mosin Nagant M1891/30 Rifle
Mosin Nagant M1891/30 rifles, standing for original M91s, are used by Reds and Whites throughout the movie.
Mosin Nagant M1907 Carbine
Mosin Nagant M1907 Carbines are used by many Red Army soldiers, including Boris Gorikov (Leonid Kharitonov), Afansii Chubuk (Mark Bernes), Tsyganok (Vladimir Gorelov), Timoshkin (Viktor Uralskiy) and unnamed soldier (Pyotr Mukhin).
Mosin Nagant M1938 Carbine
In some scenes anachronistic Mosin Nagant M1938 Carbines are seen. Due to a continuity error Boris Gorikov's (Leonid Kharitonov) M07 Carbine switches to M38.
Machine Guns
Maxim M1910/30
Both Reds and Whites use Maxim M1910/30 machine guns, standing for original M1910s. It appears to be that a single prop is reused, identified by its non-standard shield that is possibly a simplified wartime version.
Other Weapons
RG-14/30 Hand Grenade
RG-14/30 hand grenades stand for original RG-14s.
76 mm divisional gun M1942 (ZiS-3)
An anachronistic 76 mm divisional gun M1942 (ZiS-3) is used by Whites and later captured by Reds.
