K-9: P.I. is a direct-to-video 2002 action comedy, the third and last installment in K-9 film series. This sequel was directed by Richard J. Lewis and James Belushi returns as Thomas Dooley (strangely, Dooley's first name is changed from Michael to Thomas), freshly retired from the LAPD and only a night after the retirement, finds himself and his faithful companion, German Shepherd dog Jerry Lee, are involved in the case of the robbery of computer laboratory. A pair of FBI agents suspect Dooley of complicity, so he has to make his own investigation to prove his innocence and uncover the secret of stolen computer chip.
