Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance is a 2024 RTS game developed by CatsWhoPlay (who were taken off mid-development) on their "Warfare" series engine, the same engine used in Warfare, Warfare Reloaded and Syrian Warfare and Slitherine Ltd, the publisher who took over development after CatsWhoPlay were removed.
The game takes place during the future war in the "Legion" timeline of Terminator: Dark Fate, the player takes command of a cut-off group of "The Founders", a resistance group made up of former US Military personnel as they attempt to survive against Legion after Judgement Day, who find themselves isolated and having to scavenge for resources and make friends/enemies out of other groups of survivors as they attempt to rebuild and fight back against Legion.
Notably the game further expands on the mechanics of the Warfare games and adds limited individual unit customization.
The following weapons appear in the video game Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance:
Handguns
Beretta
The Atlanta police squad in the game's prologue and the default secondary weapon for various squads is a Beretta handgun only called "Beretta".
Submachine Guns
Heckler & Koch MP5K
The Heckler & Koch MP5K appears as the secondary weapon for various units and the main weapon of the "Drivers" unit.
Shotgun
12-Gauge Shotgun
A shotgun only referred to as the "12-Gauge Shotgun" appears as the default weapon of Engineers.
Rifles
AK Rifle
A unknown AK appears being used by the Cartel forces.
"AR-15"
Called only the "AR-15" a semi-auto rifle that resembles the Vietnam-era Colt XM16E1 is the basic rifle for the player's troops.
M4A1
The M4A1 Carbine appears as the main assault rifle of the player's forces. While called an "M4" in-game, the rifle can be seen firing fully-automatic in gameplay.
Textron NGSW-R
The Textron NGSW-R appears as the "NGSW-R".
Sniper Rifles
Remington Enhanced Sniper Rifle
The Remington M2010 Enhanced Sniper Rifle appears as the default sniper rifle.
Machine Guns
Browning M2HB
The Browning M2 heavy machine gun appears as the "basic" Vehicle/Heavy Weapon squad weapon, usable either on a tripod that needs setup time for infantry or mounted on vehicles.
FN M240B
The M240B appears as the default light machine gun for infantry.
General Dynamics Lightweight Medium Machine Gun
The General Dynamics Lightweight Medium Machine Gun appears as the "LWMMG".
M134 Minigun
The M134 Minigun is available, it can be mounted on vehicles or used by infantry. Human infantry need to set the minigun on the ground like the Browning M2 while Rev-6 Terminators carry it like the T-800 in Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
Launchers
M72 LAW
The M72 LAW is the fallback default rocket launcher, notably somehow the entire squad is only able to carry a single LAW Rocket as opposed to several reloads for every other launcher.
Mk 19 grenade launcher
The Mk 19 grenade launcher appears as a grenade launcher available either as a portable turret for Heavy Weapons Squadsor mounted on vehicles.
MGL Mk 1L
The MGL Mk 1L appears as an infantry weapon used by Rangers.
Mk 153 SMAW
The Mk 153 SMAW appears as the Anti-Armor weapon of Founders infantry Squads.
RPG-7
The RPG-7 is commonly seen with Non-Founders RPG Squads, it can carry more rockets than the SMAW but is not as accurate.
FGM-148 Javelin
The FGM-148 Javelin anti-tank guided missile launcher appears as the game's ATGM, boasting higher damage, range and it's missiles can track the enemy unlike the SMAW but requiring the ATGM squad to be stationary with setup time before firing.
Grenades
M67 "Baseball"
The M67 hand grenade appears as the icon for grenades, due to the camera it's impossible to tell if the model is a proper M67.
Other
Endo Battle Rifle
The fictional Endo Battle Rifle built on the Calico Liberty 100 9mm submachine gun reappears as the main weapon of Legion's forces. Like all Plasma weaponry, it has superior damage to ballistic small arms that is even capable of damaging vehicles impervious to bullets but reduced range.
