"Iron Horn 20mm" (Barrett M82A2)
At the film's beginning, a mercenary named Cooper (John Diehl) demonstrates a heavy caliber sniper rifle that is described (in the closed captioning) as an "Iron Horn 20 millimeter". In reality, the rifle appears to be a Barrett M82A2 .50 caliber sniper rifle, the bullpup variant of the Barrett M82 series. When first testing it at an aircraft boneyard, Nash says that this sniper rifle fires 20mm high-explosive incendiary rounds, is gas-operated and uses a rotating bolt. The rifle is fitted with an AN/PAS-13 Thermal Weapon Sight (TWS), Harris bipod and multi-ported muzzle brake. The rifle can be heard being fired off-screen several times during the first encounter with the Spinosaurus, but none of the rounds seem to hit their mark as the dinosaur appears unharmed.
Heckler & Koch SL8-1
The pilot and second mercenary M.B. Nash (Bruce A. Young) is seen armed with an Heckler & Koch SL8-1 rifle fitted with a single stack 10 round magazine and an M68 Aimpoint red dot scope.
Steyr AUG
Co-pilot and mercenary Udesky (Michael Jeter) is seen armed with a Steyr AUG A1 assault rifle fitted with a 42-round magazine. It is rendered useless from the plane crash.
M16A2
The Marines who land on the beach of Isla Sorna are armed with M16A2 Rifles. Many of them appear to have A1-style (teardrop) forward assist buttons (but in the late 1980s and 1990s these were common field repair items on A2s). Most are likely rubber props. Some of the extras exhibit proper gun safety training by keeping their fingers off the triggers, while others do not.
Handguns
Heckler & Koch USP
A Heckler & Koch USP is seen in Udesky's vest holster. He is then seen in the background when the T-rex meets the Spinosaurus trying to draw out his pistol, but his pistol is stuck on his holster and disappears into the ground.
Shotguns
Mossberg 500 "Cruiser"
Nash is briefly seen with a pistol grip shotgun slung over his back, likely a Mossberg 500 Cruiser when he rushes to start the plane.
Other
Mk 19 Grenade Launcher
The Amphibious Assault Vehicles used by the Marines are armed with turret-mounted Mk 19 grenade launchers.
Browning M2HB Heavy Machine Gun
In addition to the Mk 19 grenade launchers, the Marines' Amphibious Assault Vehicles are also armed with Browning M2HBs mounted in the turrets next to the grenade launchers.
Orion Flare Gun
Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) finds an Orion flare gun and uses it to ignite the boat fuel around the Spinosaurus in the water, ending its attack on the group. It should be noted that in real life, submersion under water would render the flare too damp to fire. The weapon also has a black finish instead of the typical safety orange coloration.
