Far from the Motherland (Vdali ot rodiny)
Far from the Motherland (Vdali ot rodiny) is a Soviet 1960 war movie directed by Aleksei Shvachko and based on the novel by Yuri Dold-Mikhajlik. Soviet intelligence agent Lt. Goncharenko operates in a Nazi occupied European state under the name of German officer Baron Heinrich von Goldring. His mission is to locate the secret underground factory that produces new types of weapons.
The following weapons were used in the film Far from the Motherland (Vdali ot rodiny):
Lt. Goncharenko (Vadim Medvedev), operating under the name of Heinrich von Goldring, carries a Luger P08. Lugers are also used by provocateur Ludwig (Evgeniy Baliev) and Gestapo officer Lemke (Georgiy Kozakovskiy).
A nickel plated Walther PPK is Goncharenko's backup weapon. He gives this pistol to weapon engineer Eduard Strohng (Mikhail Belousov) after the latter escaped from the secret factory.
MP40s are used by German soldiers and local resistance fighters.
Several abandoned Pak 40 AT guns are seen in the scene when Goncharenko crosses the frontline.
