Energa Rifle Grenade. This particular version is US M29 training.

The Energa (often written as ENERGA) is an anti-tank rifle grenade, designed by Liechtenstein company Anstalt für die Entwicklung von Erfindungen und Gewerblichen Anwendungen (hence the name of the weapon). Belgian company Mecar started the production in early 1950s, and soon Energa was issued by UK (as Anti-Tank Grenade, No. 94), Belgium, Netherlands and many other states. Current manufacturer of Energa (under the name R1M1) is South African Denel (former Armscor). US Army issued a domestic version of Energa, M28 rifle grenade and its training version M29.

Energa rifle grenades were launched from the following rifles:

  • Armour Penetrating: 7.9 in (20 cm) of armor, 19.7 in (50 cm) of concrete; for the Super Energa with a rocket booster up to 10.8 in (27.5 cm) of armor and 23.6 in (60 cm) of concrete.
