Donald Pleasence

Donald Pleasence was a British film and stage actor. Born in 1919, he joined a local theatre company in 1939 before enlisting in the Royal Air Force during World War II, where his plane would be shot down in 1944 and he became a prisoner of war in Germany until the end of the war. After the war, Pleasence would eventually break into screen rolls, with his best known roles being Flight Lieutenant Colin Blythe in The Great Escape, Ernst Stavro Blofeld in You Only Live Twice, SEN 5241 in THX 1138, and possibly his most iconic role of all, Dr. Samuel Loomis in Halloween and four of its sequels. He died in 1995 at the age of 75.
