Citron Foug mle. 1916 with 2nd Model cap.

The Grenade a main Citron Foug modèle 1916 got its name from its lemon shape as well as its place of manufacture, an iron foundry in the village of Foug. It was fitted with a wooden stopper containing a percussion fuse. A blow with the palm of the hand, knee, or hard object, ignited a primer, which in turn ignited a detonating cord with a crimped-on detonator. After about 4.5 seconds, the explosive charge of 90 g of cheddite detonated.

The Citron Foug was reliable, had good blasting and fragmentation effect, and was even used by the Vietcong during the Vietnam War.
